I don't like it. Usually I find it too salty, I don't like the butter they pour on it, and it's not always crunchy... rather bland. I tend to just eat Skittles or Popables. :)

If I didn't hate popcorn so much, I would have voted for the 3rd option:

I love it. Going to a movie and not getting popcorn just seems wrong to me. I do eat healthy, but when it comes to popcorn, I go all out.

Oh yeah, gimme the popcorn. These days I go for the kids bag, pile up napkins underneath it, then let that butter flow. The self serve butter fountain is the best thing since fountain soda refills.
I've yet to see the self-serve butter stations. That is just a non-option in the People's Republic of Massachusetts.

The best part of movie theatre popcorn is the little "flavor station" thingy they have at some of the theatres here. There's shakers filled with differen flavor powdery stuffs, like cheddar, ranch, barbecue, salsa, etc. That's always fun.

Flavor stations!??! WHERE?!?!

It's on my list of "bad foods" that are so fucking good. Also included are "bloomin' onions" at outback and In N Out burger.

Feh! Bloomin' Onions can't be bad for you! They're onions! A vegetable!

And I think with the type of diet that I have, I can afford a bag of popcorn once in a while!

What bothers me is the containers cost more than the popcorn inside.
But the golden goodness is so awesome!

My husband used to work at a movie theatre in high school. He told me that they used to take boxes of twizzlers and stick them in the compartment under the popcorn machine where the loose kernels fall in, and they would get all ooey gooey and then they would eat them. This also sounds good.

Muh. They used to serve popcorn at the Harvard Square Theatre with real butter. Then they moved the entry to the theatre, and then they switched to the glyceride-laden artificially flavored melted vegetable fat solids glop. I don't know if the theatre's still there or not, but once they switched, I stopped bothering to go.
Now I pop my own before I go to a movie, and bring it with me. But I STILL get the Raisinettes!

Dude now I want popcorn... thanks.
Okay, I'm not a fan to LICO-rice. Yek.

PS: Can you make popcorn butter sound any worse?!?!?1/1

ahhhh the joys of popcorn at the movies. My fave is to buy a small bag of buttered popcorn and a bag of M & M's and pour them over the hot popcorn. Chocolate, salt and butter.. heaven.
Ugh. I refrain from movie theatre popcorn and popcorn in general. Gross.
I hear they use healthy canola oil? In that "pwning" movie theater style popcorn, but I still think that shit will give you diabetes.

Only if you eat pounds of it at every meal and end up like Roseanne.

I didn't go the movies much as a child, so I didn't eat a whole lot of popcorn from lack of being there to do so. As an adult, I usually go out to dinner before/after the movie, and popcorn doesn't appeal to me. It's either "I'm stuffed from dinner." or "I'm waiting until dinner to eat."
Why that doesn't stop me from Junior Mints, I'll never know.

Because Junior Mints are THE BOMB. And they're dessert or appetizer. Goddamn, I want some now. I hate you.

Hehe, I remember sharing a big ass mudslide with Jolena for dessert one night, then we shared a box of Junior Mints during the movie. It was damn good the mix of alcohol and mint prolly 20 minutes afterward.

What I don't get at the movies these days is the offering of stuff like hot dogs and nachos. That's BALLPARK food, dude. I don't want some asshole next to me at the movies crunching on his nachos or snarfing down his hot dog.

Movie theatres that have the soft pretzel bites are the shit.
Though when they give you a cold cheeze packet from the fridge a frown comes to my face. Would it kill them to have some Jalepeno Cheddar warming up?

An awesome addition to movie theater cuisine would be them cheese-filled pretzel bites they started making at Pretzel Time. Messy as all hell, but sooo tasty.
Snowcaps are very high in the pwnage department.

I worked in a theatre while in HS. I'm burnt out on popcorn still.
Not to mention that "weekend" popcorn is popped days in advance, shoved into garbage bags and emptied periodically into the poppers.
I'm amazed at how many people prefer slightly "stale" popcorn.
We didn't warm up the twizzlers, but we did bite off both ends on three twizzlers and use those as our Dr Pepper straws. We would also take about 4 pay day's and melt/mix them up with fresh popcorn and 3 gallons of butter/greese ... yum.

Nope, I just tend to enjoy my dinner to the fullest extent possible, popcorn usually butters me full and/or makes me drink alot of DP, which makes me not so hungry. What's the point of a nice thick steak if you can't get the taste of butter off the roof of your mouth?
Oh yeah, :gulp: I usually have a few drinks when I eat out, and rum and coke + butter from popcorn don't mix.
