Hi Guys,

I am considering adding a returner to my mutant pure hurler character. I found a situation where my bando causes problems (in groups, when mobs pick them up). So for this case I am considering to invest in a returner, also to have as another thing to hurl in general. I dont know much about how they work. Can any weapon become a hurler? Could someone post a log of one being hurled a few times? What weapon type do you reccommend? I know the mechanics of hurling give some of the normal weapon/crit bonuses found in certain weapon types. Does the size of the returner affect roundtime, or return RT? This character snipes from shadows, but I was under the impression using a returner will bring you out of shadows so I guess open hurling for returner is the only option?

He uses a shield, and has full training in hurling, but nothing else (yet, may eventually pick up brawling for extra DS when open-handed).

Thanks.

For a returned RT for the attack includes the return, you are essentially never without a weapon in your hand. Other then the chronomage daggers sniping from hiding is indeed noy possible

With a quick flick of your wrist, you deftly send a spiked vultite war hammer into flight.
You throw a spiked vultite war hammer at a rolton!
AS: +228 vs DS: +5 with AvD: +25 + d100 roll: +95 = +343
... and hit for 130 points of damage!
Left leg ripped from socket at the knee!
The rolton bleats loudly as she collapses to the ground in obvious pain and favors her mangled left hind leg.
The rolton lets out a final agonized bleat and dies.

Your vultite war hammer spins rapidly through the air, the head whooshing audibly with each revolution. As it completes its arc, it reverses direction and lands solidly in your right hand, ready to throw again.

Roundtime: 5 sec.

So mechanically speaking, during that 5 seconds where it is "in the air" you still have the weapon in your hand? Like for DS calculations?

Yes. That's what returners have over bandos. With bandos, you toss it and are weaponless if you get hit.

Got it, thanks. And the 5 second is your total RT? And if you AIM, i suppose it goes up to 7-8 seconds?
