Hello everyone,

I need some help here, as much as I would love to be a shield brawl cleric I do not see how it would be viable since I also want Spell Aim. I guess I am willing to stay with a runetwig since it seems I would have to. I want to use Brig for the extra protection I do not have with my shield. Can you take a look at this training plan below and tell me what if anything you would change?

Armor Use 35 (0.4X)
Physical Fitness 91 (1.0X)
Climbing 30 (0.3X)
Swimming 40 (0.4X)
Perception 91 (1.0X)
Arcane Symbols 91 (1.0X)
Magic Item Use 91 (1.0X)
Harness Power 182 (2.0X)
Spell Aiming 182 (2.0X)
Spirit ManaCon. 91 (1.0X)

Spell Research 211 (2.3X)
Major Spirit 50 (0.5X)
Minor Spirit 50 (0.5X)
Cleric 111 (1.2X)
Spiritual Lore 71 (0.8X)
Blessings 20 (0.2X)
Religion 30 (0.3X)
Summoning 21 (0.2X)

Cheers,
Erez

Shield/brawl openhand channeling 302 is superior to runestaves. FUCK RUNESTAVES IN THE EAR!

I use a capped cleric who's shield/brawl openhand channel 302.... ^^. Can you tell I'm biased? He also sits in brig. Good choice.

What society are you in? Your spells are above double, not something really needed until post cap. So you could save a lot of TP's there. I never did much mana control, what's the point of having 1x in it? Other than random ass mana regen?

Perception is for what point? You don't forage or skin, so how's that help you to have 1x ranks in it?

Clerics are fun!

I disagree with everything Neelin said.

Runestaves win with clerics with the release of 319 and the super OPness of Cleric CS. Screw training in shields and brawling... just train in magics stuffs, and win.

Pull climbing and swimming up to 50 ranks each, then they're done forever.

Harness Power... you're spending a lot to be a full 2x in there... I'd drop it down to 1x, invest the remainder into spells.

Perception is maneuver defense. Keep it 1x.

If you want to be a field raiser, consider First Aid?

I actually didn't know the perception thing. I don't hunt shit that lasts long enough for that to happen. OTF WOO!
Screw runestaves! Shield brawling is pwn! I love it!
I don't disagree with Harness Power, honestly. That is a bit much for reduced returns past 1x.
I still say post-2x spells is a bit much pre-cap.

It looks like you have a pretty solid idea of what you want. Where is the help needed exactly? Your training isn't too far off from what most consider standard. And if you wanted shield/brawl you could likely cut out some harness power to get it.

So the SMC is for Mana pulses, 2x HP is simply for the Mana, I burn through mana as I hunt with 317 (Zelian cleric) so 302 hits like a wet noodle. I do not care to be a field cleric at all I do not usually raise the dead in the first place.

As for the spells my current set up is:
Spell Lists
Major Spiritual....................| 51

Spell Lists
Minor Spiritual....................| 51

Spell Lists
Cleric.............................| 134

I am use to having the crazy CS.

perception indeed is for the CM bonus.

You lost me when you said 302 is a wet noodle.

I hunt everything with 302. Lored out, that spell is the shiznit. Channeling in offensive, even more so.

I have started adding 302 to my rotation, along with my falchion swings, and it has helped "Tenderize" my prey. I am only at level with my cleric spells. I haven't recorded my logs but I hit a tree spirit for 45 base and 50 plasma crit.

Im so excited about going runestaff user Smite/Bolter. Woot Woot!

The only thing that stinks about 302 is it has a capped damage on the first part. Otherwise, 302 has served me well for 94 trains. I did start as Smite but turned to Bane at higher levels.
