For throwing weapons do you also need to train in edged weapons for the defense? Or do you get it from throwing training?

If the weapon in your hand is a javelin or other thrown based weapon you will get DS from holding it. If the weapon is a handaxe or dagger you would need OHE to get the defense from it.

Additionally when you hurl either item you lose the parry defense and would need brawling training to offset the period of time you have nothing in your hand(s).

That being said, I found it more beneficial to use either spell burst training if I was going to spend points and spells or a DB item to offset the DS drop.

i will have to test to see. Also, i throw from the hide (sniping) without issue, so hurling both daggers is no big deal

Yeah... I'm debating this route at some point. I don't want to go now and arrow but something like this would be my happy medium of staying in hiding fighting. Where do you hunt?

Couldn't you in theory forgo ohe altogether and just script draw/hurl it nearly instantaneously, and use brawl as defense and a secondary hunting style? Kill two birds with one stone and save some points?

yes. and since there is zero RT to draw, as fast as you hit the macro button is as fast as you draw. it is only a 4 second RT from hiding aiming for the eye which is unimportant if you are sniping (since you stay hidden)
