View Full Version : For pure - padded armor or flaring armor

So there was a bit of back and forth on lnet and possibly because there is a flaring set for sale. How much would a flaring set of armor help a pure vs a padded set?

a pure that is using flaring armor is planing on being hit, that seems like a bad plan to me

If your getting hit with low endrolls flares will give some extra damage every now and again.

If your getting hit with higher endrolls the padding will keep you alive longer.

Regardless padding/flaring is only for those planning on being hit.

padding helps with maneuver based attacks you can't control

flaring doesn't, really

That's what I thought. Which is why I was confused (and still am because the same person keeps looking for flaring) when there was some back and forth on lnet about it. Additionally, I am starting to run in to more and more situations where I could have really used crit padding.

Some people just really like the flaring messaging, even if mechanically it is less effective

I guess. But I realized, when I'm getting critted by spike thorn and bear hugs, I'd rather have the padding.
