I'm a returning player after many years away and I was wondering what/ If Simutronics does anything in regards to the selling of silvers. I have a lot of time on my hands and therefore hunt a lot! I'm terrible at trading so I feel the items I would want are not worth the time PVE farming would take to earn, so I have decided I'd see if selling silvers as a way to earn money to donate to my charity would be viable. My charity is to help bright students from subsistence income families attend a university thats basicly ivy league in their country, but at community college in the US price. The program is to sponsor nursing students.

I of coarse, have other fundraising activities, but I thought that this might be a way for my gaming addiction to aid in my desire to help someone who has no chance otherwise. America is still the land of opportunity, but theres just not much of that in third world countries. For instance the wages in the Philippines runs from about 6 bucks a day in the provinces to 11 a day in the capital region. Food if you buy from the wet markets runs about 75% of the US, gas is about double the US price and Electric is double as well. The only things really cheap there is rent and any labor you need. Most of their income goes for food.

So as the title of the topic says, is Simu pursuing banning accounts heavily?

They will only give two shits, maybe three, if you advertise from in game through ESP, whispers, etc, on the wiki, or on the officials. Keep it out of those places.

Don't buy a ton of silvers right before a major auction and then use the silvers at the auction. They don't like their auction items bought out that way.

Beyond that, yeah they don't seem to care much.

People still, and have for a long time, done exactly that. They don't do anything about it. Silvers do get more expensive around those times though.

I'm not sure if Candor meant this or not, but there has been a rule I've noticed recently that you cannot transfer coins into an account during an auction and all coins must be in the account on the character bidding. It can be spread over a multiple towns, but the coins must be there in bank accounts for the character bidding at the start of the auction.

Oh, if he meant buying coins DURING the auction that is stupid. Buy them before it.

I said quote RIGHT BEFORE unquote. You do it five minutes before an auction starts, it's going to get noticed. As for during...well duh.

But please feel free to ignore this advice. When you run into problems, I'll just laugh.

If they banned accounts for buying or selling silvers.. I would say half the posters on these forums would be banned. Hell, since they read these forums, they would ban people before the sale could even go thru.

While they care... because lets face it.. SIMU would rather be getting the cash then us.. they don't care enough to ban people.

As for auction.. that generally only applies until it reaches around 100 mill.. I think. Around that point, the automated system for bidding tends to break down, and you just shout out a bid. So it isn't limited to coin on you, and people can pass you coin. They may frown on it.. but simu rarely has a problem taking coin from people.

I've never seen an automated system for bidding.

2009 Auction when I bought my bought. I am talking auction, not services. At the auction, you had to have the silver ~ON~ you. You physically could not bid more then you had. You didn't say a number really, you bid a number. If you didn't have the silvers to bid that high, you couldn't. At like.. CCF.. the GM was checking your account while you bid to see if you had enough, way different.

Checked my logs. Seems it broke at 200 mill or so.

Ivora *BANGS* her gavel! "The bidding is now open for lot number 309: a weathered property deed! Who will start the bidding at 100000000 silvers?"
Ivora exclaims, "Here we go!"
Valurin just went through an iron-studded door.
sJ>bid 100m

The auctioneer nods to you as you bid 100000000 silvers.
Ardwen says, "My ship flies."
The auctioneer calls out, "Kilthal bids 150000000 silvers! New bids must be at least 165000000 silvers."
Zylianara says, "Mayahps I should reconsider a diet."
Ardwen nods to Zylianara.
Zylianara blinks at Ardwen.
Katara groans.
sJ>bid 175m

The auctioneer nods to you as you bid 175000000 silvers.
Zylianara asks, "It does?"
Cryheart glances at Kildar.
Cryheart glances at Kilthal.
Kizun looks over at Beldin and shakes his head.
Cryheart grins at Kilthal.
(Zylianara looks stunned.)
Cristalia just came through an iron-studded door.
Kilthal rummages around in his pockets.
Dagleth begins chuckling at Zylianara!
Ardwen says, "Airship."
Shannivar stares at Kilthal.
Kerl rummages around in his pockets.
Ivora announces "Lot number 309: a weathered property deed! Going to Elrodin for 175000000 silvers. *BANG* goes Ivora gavel. "GOING ONCE!" she cries.

The auctioneer calls out, "Kilthal bids 200000000 silvers! New bids must be at least -209496729 silvers."
Rabenwolf says, "Feh."
Iashara blinks.
Merjinia just went through an iron-studded door.
sJ>roll eye
Zylianara asks, "A flying ship, imagine that. Whats it look like? Where do you park it? Why have I never seen it before?"
You roll your eyes.
Iashara asks, "Again?"
Ardwen says, "Bloody indeeed."
Zylianara grins at Ardwen.
Malikh chuckles.
Speaking to Kilthal, Perigourd says, "You're wealthier than I imagined."
Perigourd grins at Kildar.
Kilthal softly says, "Fire and Blood."
Perigourd coughs.
Zylianara gawks at Kildar.
Perigourd grins at Kilthal.
Cryheart grins at Kilthal.
Kilthal nods to Ardwen.
Zylianara leans to her left slightly.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* "Hold on a second everyone," exclaims Ivora! "I am suspending the bidding for a moment."
Zylianara gawks at Kilthal.
Iashara asks, "So.. if I bid.. I am still owed 250m and the airship.. plus THIS ship.. and another 250m?"
Speaking to Kilthal, Perigourd says, "Must have purified a couple hundred thousand gems."
Ivora asks, "Do we have a bid over 200000000?"
Speaking to Kildar, Zylianara says, "My apology."
Iashara says, "So you owe me 500m and both ships."
sJ>'225
You say, "225."

Automated system parts in Bold.

Interesting, I've never been to one of the ticketed auction events, but I've been to a bunch of private property and EG and RTCF/CCF auctions and nothing automated was ever used.

I think it is safe to say that aside from some very rare and specific incidents, the selling of silver and/or items, as so long as it is not done in game or on the officials is ignored.

2^27 is 134m, so 2^28 is 268m, so I guess each byte has a parity bit, so 7 * 4 = 28 - 1 for the 0th place = 27...?

Yeah, it's only rolled out for real auctions.
