Chisel worth about 100k.

I'll give you 1m just to be nice.

Gem chisels are very dependent on who wants it.

They have sold for as little as 50m and as high as over 100m. I would say pick a number between that as your MB.

Is this the kind of mayor you want for Wehnimer's Landing? One who will cheat someone out of a lot of money? Rumor is it, he doesn't even maintain residence in Wehnimer's. He lives in Solhaven. I demand to see your long form birth certificate.

I heard his middle name is Faendryl.

Didn't I sell you one of these in 2004? Unfortunately I don't recall how much you paid, but I'm beginning to think it wasn't enough...

I'm trying to reduce inflation!

Probably. I bought one from someone for somewhere between 30-50m, I forgot the exact amount.

It was a nifty item, but I quickly realized it would take an insane amount of time to make my money back on it, so I sold it.

100 mil as minimum bid, the buyer will never make that from it but can sell it for same price in future years. Its not a money maker item but you never lose buying and selling it.

Gem chisels are awesome items for sorcerers via Animate Dead. The gem's worth adds to the duration. Obviously, that's one expensive toy, but eh. I always enjoyed using one in that capacity. Aren't there other classes which rely on the value of a gem to help power their spells? The best combination is bard song followed by chiseling.

I did some research on that with a capped bard years and years ago. The result was disappointing. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Yeah, for profit-making purposes the shatter risk after spending all that time purifying probably eats away at value. I'm just talking about getting super high-value gems for spell purposes.

I helped Buck with some research on one and high end rift gems and the results were redonkulous. Some of the gems could not be sold at the gemshop because they were worth more than 35k.

Just full disclosure that wasn't only based on the chisel.

The biggest issue I have had with them is I have bought three if them all at different prices and we aren't talking within a mil or two of each other.

I have paid 50m, 65m and 75m for them from newest to oldest. I was able to sell the 50m and 65m ones for what I paid but was not able to sell it for 75m at the time, I think I took 70m.

So yes, in general, you can get your money back out of them as long as you didn't pay a very high price. I don't see someone paying the 100m+ price anymore.

What do you do with a green that is worth over 35k?

Have a younger character with less trading skill sell it ;)

Sell it at the pawnshop.

Seems silly that they have a 35k max value per gem especially since there is no max amount you can get back as a whole.

That's a bigger price cut, try my way first!

Sell it at the pawnshop.

Or you make a really nice cleric gem.

Or you make a really nice cleric gem.

Sell them in a player shop!

Was a fun exercise in any case. I was duly impressed. It was also a nice financial arrangement we had worked out.

Disenchant it.

I wonder how long a 35k gem would last as a charging orb.
