Permabless just doesn't have the value now that undead bane is a thing. It'd be great piece to work on if you could add weighting to it but it's pretty functionally limited at the moment. Love to see it get changed.

It's difficult to get undead bane on anything. I'd argue that a 10x naked returner is arguably more valuable than a permabless returner because it's a project piece. Same reason why 7x perfects with a few ensorcells are the same price as 7x perfects. They (the t2 perfects) are dead-end pieces.

A t2 or a t3 is a significant surcharge when you can get around the surcharge by not having one at all. Because 7x perfects are relatively common and it's exponentially more difficult to achieve a T4 or T5, there's no point in picking up a 7x T2.

One solution would be to make ensorcelling plain 7x items that much easier. Dev's could also decrease the cost associated with premium enchanting anything under a T4 or T5 to encourage people not to throw away the T1 and T2 7x perfects.

Besides. you can add a different bane to a perma weapon and totally mix things up. Push comes to shove if theres an event they are doing bane at odds are they will also be stripping abilities and perma is strippable

Undead bane works on undead. If you want a bane that hits demons you need extraplanar.

Undead bane definitely is not the same as permabless, but similar result for all intents and blah...it won't hit demons. It uses a different slot/spot which allows (unlike permablessed) to have base flares or weighting or DB etc

Supposedly, extraplanar hits demons but I've directly heard different GMs give different answers. Pretty sure there is also Demonbane and that that specific bane was supposed to be for demons only, but later extraplanar also incorporated it. So extraplanar may just have a large bane set (incl demons), and demonbane be more specific to its niche at this point, but there was some confusion in information at the original releases.

I do know and tested my lichbane that hits liches (obv undead). Just not alll undead (better, wider critter bane set)

Demons are 8x-10x only, and undead <--- unsure is undead, but they require a bless to hit. Vathors, Oculoths, all that.

Extra-planar does nothing with "hit-ability". Basically, if the weapon can not blessed (in this case, it has acid flaring), you cannot hit undead rift creatures or demons.

Well from this and what JackWhisper mentioned after, it sounds like someone put undead bane (or extraplanar) on a weapon that could still be blessed (and is 8x or higher enchant).

The reason we are saying undead bane does not hit demons is because the assumption is whoever gets undead bane, would put it on something (like a claidhmore), that cannot accept a bless (except for rare scripted two-sided items). I guess if that weapon does not have flares, weighting or is a defender than a bless can still go on and hit demons as well.

You wave the weapon to get the immolation going. After that, the weapon will flare every time with each successful hit. Or, you can wave the weapon at a creature or player and it will inflict automatic damage. Excellent for killing higher lvl critters or PC's. Plus they look cool.

They can be ensorcelled as well.
