In case anyone is interested, here was a death crit on a fresh cyclops.

A brilliant shower of sparks bursts from your vultite falchion, but it quickly returns to normal.

The spirit drain is 1 SP per flare.

I'm not quite sure on the rate of flare, but I know it's slower than normal. I've not tested my theories, but since I've always recovered the SP before the next flare, I assess it either works at a 1 SP point regen rate, or flares when you are full on SPs as a safeguard against killing you.
