Thinking it's the flu. I woke up feeling ok, but with that "sick" feeling. It just kicked me in the ass around 2.

I've only remodeled a house to 80% completion, disassembled two cars, and helped the family with harvest, helped out both sisters in law while my brothers are over seas, all on top of being a father and husband.

Don't try the one up game when it comes to parenthood because I don't play that game. If I miss 1 Halloween with the family, that includes the brothers, sisters, uncles, and cousins, the world is not going to end.

I'd rather keep my flu than share it.

You won't get me in that, when I'm sick, I still go to my job, when I'm sick, I still do my best at home and I take care of the rest.

Being sick isn't the end of the world, you can still be there and enjoy his happiness.

And being there is ten times better to a child, anyway.

And I'm raising money to buy an house, I work to put my kid in a private school, I'm studying to earn more money, et cetera et cetera. We all have our hard times and it's in those time that need us the most.

Excuse me, Xcalibur, but Tsa`ah is exactly right. You cannot assume that, when you feel bad, you have a viral flu. It could be a bacterial illness. Even if it is the flu, flu is much more dangerous to young children than to adults. Personally, I'd try to avoid infecting my children, too. That is responsible parenting.

Halloween was cancelled for Tsa`ah, not for the kids, so stop giving him shit for not wanting to get his family, including his kids, sick on a holiday. That alone makes him a great parent.

And no offense, but if a child can't understand that their mom or dad is sick and it can't be done, and makes you feel like you have to get out bed to make him happy, he needs to be spoken to. Life isn't fair and you can't be expected to do everything for your child all the time.

By the way, if I'm really sick and it's contagious, I don't go to work either. Hell they've sent me home if I was sick and went in "to do the noble thing" because the last thing they need is get more people sick.
