Treasure boost?

What's this all about? 5 of my 7 characters got a "treasure boost." I don't see any rhyme or reason for why the other 2 missed it, other than the possibility that one might have been dead when the others received them.

ETA: Looking back on my time stamps one of the 2 characters was dead when the 5 received the treasure boost. No idea about the other one.

It all happened when you searched a dead creature in that time frame, I think.

Looked like that. Happened to several people in plat at the same time as prime. Can't say I noticed any difference in treasure however.

Also had this one show up at one point:

[You have been awarded a Lesser Experience Pass! You will be able to absorb experience normally until level 49 until Thu Jan 8 03:41:44 ET 2015.]

Oddly enough the character who received that message was already well past level 49, so not sure what it meant.
