Heavily scripted consolation cloak from the premium auction of 98 I believe, epic deepened to 200 pounds

I'll actually go 45 if you accept cash over coins...

Did he just start bidding against himself?!
...It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.

Nice Dodgeball reference.
On the other hand, you just outbid yourself and then called yourself on it. Bold might be an understatement.

I'll accept cash at 10 per.
Yes it inspects as gigantic, epic deepening service from CCF.
I'll set a buyout of 60m.

I'm out. I don't stand a chance against someone not afraid to outbid themselves.

Alright, well I don't really want to pay $10/M. A few posts might be asking for that, but I don't feel that is the average norm yet. I'll stick to my offer of 40M in silvers then.

The other bidder offered $10/M, if you can get it for cheaper elsewhere then be my guest, but backing off your bid because you don't like the current exchange rate seems strange.

Ok, since this seems "odd" to people I will explain my side. I've had multiple transactions over the past 5 days involving a $9/M exchange rate. The rates on the "silvers" board have been fluctuating between $8/M desired and $10/M selling, with haggling in between the two prices. Due to this, all of my transactions with other people have been $9/M. I offered two prices, either 40M in coins, or 45M in dollars going with the exchange rate I've been dealing with. Since the exchange rate in dollars was higher than I am used to dealing with, I choose not to go that option and went with the silver bid instead. If your issue is that I did not post "I will bid 45M if you accept cash 'at $9/M' ", I will learn from this and start annotating as such. 40M is still $400, but if you want me to withdraw completely for a simple mistake of not clarifying with the two words "at $9/M" that in my past few days of transactions has been the norm, then go with "The other bidder [who] offered $10/M" at 35M for $350. Also, he never offered a $10/M exchange rate, baring any edited posts Carsyn offered 35M in silvers, which is the same currency I offered 40M in.

Oh my gosh, the hate... Since everyone seems to be so against this party foul, let me just apologize up front, withdraw my bid and let the last bidder at $10/M have it so that everyone will be happy.
Congrats Carsyn. Please know that I hold no animosity towards you, 20+ bids in 5 days and I had no idea that this one was going to spiral so out of control so quickly...

Welcome back to the PC and Gemstone.
But as a note, you can't really expect every seller on here to honor your lowest silver conversion rate you've been getting or even read your mind and know how much you've been getting it at from others if you never state it in threads and just assume everyone does it.
PS: Can you be my sugar momma, money bags?

Basically, if you can't have your way, and get it at 9/per you are going to withdraw bids? In a small community like this, you'll get far.

I see two threads in the silvers folder where people are buying silvers at 8 per, have they actually bought any silvers for that price though? I'd be pretty surprised if they did.

Here are some threads in the last few days where silvers have sold at 10/m, since Streamdancer seems to think this is so absurd.

http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?93921-5mil-10-per
Anything sold for 9.5 is already gone, and when buying something with money instead of silver. I shouldn't expect much of Streamdancer though I suppose, since his first private message to me was him offering 200 dollars, before he changed his mind and met the minimum bid.

I'm not sure what the high bid is or if Streamdancer retracted a bid or what happened. But my bid of 35m at 10/per still stands if its the high one. I just wasn't interested in making the 50m bid.

I'm not sure either Carsyn, I'm reading the same stuff you are and what I'm getting out of it is if I won't accept 8/m then Streamdancer is retracting all bids, but who knows.

It sounded like Stream rectracted all bids of theirs, to allow the last Highest Bid to stand and not step on any toes.

As far as I can tell Streamdancer withdrew his 45 mil bid when he learned of the 10 dollars per. I can't totally fault him for this seeing as how his 45 million bid was just outbidding himself anyways and he wasn't aware of the requested conversion ratio, although he probably should have requested that info up front before making another bid.
Streamdancer then seemed to withdraw all of his bids once people started giving him shit. That's what it looks like to me anyways.

whats the big deal if he was going to offer to honor the 40 mil silver bid? there was no reason for him to outbid himself.

Sure there was. To prevent ME from bidding 45m. And I -might- have. But I wasn't going to bid 50m for sure. So he did good.

He could have just as easily bid 45.1 mil to outbid you. You don't have to bid in 5 mil increments :p
