The Big Christmas Steam Sale is on now. This is one of the big ones, if you're thinking they just had one a while back. It will run from December 18th to January 2nd. Big discounts on games with rotating inventory every 12/24 hours. Be sure to check it out if you're looking for good deals. You cab also get trading cards for voting on what games go on sale every 12 hours which can be sold for real money (but not much).

http://store.steampowered.com/

Feel free to post your purchases of games you'll never get around to playing!

One of my favorite PS3 games, though the sequels were stupidly Vita. Cell shaded anime WW2 game, with small squads that shift between tactical view and a first person bullet time setup for turn based. It's fun and I bought it.

Do not buy the new borderlands, it is a giant shit of lackluster content/platforming and tedious mission running. Just wait for the GOTY edition.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (BUY NOW)
I pretty much just scan all the super cheap games .99 or whatever. I have found that I've had ten times the amount of fun with indie under 10$ games than I have with any recent 60$ game.

Well if you are playing a triple A title maybe. But with alot of Indie titles or Rogue like games they aren't very long. And if you play FPS I'm sure all you wouldn't go play CS:GO/COD/BF and nothing else. If so.. lame.

One Way Heroics was on sale for like, 90 cents or something. It's a solid game, you can likely get 5-10 hours out of it... definitely worth the price at under a dollar.

I know I know... somehow I missed it. I entered the franchise at FFX, which I loved. I was thinking about how in the hell I missed VII and it just must be that my console transition in the 90's was from Super Nintendo to PS2. In between I was too busy getting laid.

Uplay is intensely stupid but it's worth it just for free roaming pirate GTA.

As for the main storyline? AC3 had fun villains/unlikeable hero. This has likeable hero/stupid villains.

Steam sales generally go like this. Game you want is 33% off the first day. The fifth day its 90% off. The eighth day its 40% off. I swear they just do RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR™ on their sales. But in general you will see the same game on sale more than once.

What's odd as it was a massive discount, but it wasn't listed on the main page. Now it's far less. I'm sure it will come up eventually.

If a game costs more then $30 base, I won't buy it on a steam sale till it is 50% off. If it's less then $30, I will pick it up at 33%. If it's newer, if it's older, I will wait till 50%.

Fair enough. I mean there are a lot of free stress testing programs out there like aida64, FurMark, etc. I suppose I was more curious about what the 5 bucks got you that the free version couldn't offer.

I spent 5 hours over the last few days with a new character, just hunting deer, fishing salmon, crafting food and clothing, then going home to relax in a modded house.

All told I got Borderlands: PS, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Ryse, Beyond Earth, Far Cry 4 (with a promotional key), and Age of Mythology. I don't really see myself getting anything else, unless maybe Divinity goes half off or something. That should hold me for a long while.

I wanted to get Shovel Knight... I heard really good things about it... However, I don't think it's really a game that I'd want to play on my CPU/Steam... I know they also sell it on the 3DS online store... It may be a better game for a portable system, or a console. But... if you're running a steam box, it'd be a good buy.

I picked it up it's pretty fun. Each race plays differently so it's not just a bunch of reskinned units. My only complaint is the tactical combat. I can't quite get the units to do just what I want them to do but I think it's me doing something wrong over the game.

I finally picked up Wasteland 2 from the last-minute sale...only played a couple hours but I'm pretty impressed so far. They managed to bring old school wasteland/fallout into the current age without losing any of it's charm.

I heard tell the same studio is making a new Planescape, but it probably won't be out for another year or so...I don't know about ya'll, but Planescape: Torment is in my top 5 games of all time on any platform. I'm pretty stoked about these guys making another one.

I've played their Endless Space, and the thing that bothered me the most about it was that combat was like a mini card-battling game. It was really weird and out of the blue. Legends doesn't do that, it's more of a traditional 4x, but from what I understand you don't really have full control over your army, which moves and fights by itself

That's my only problem with it. You can set what units you want your army to fight but the AI will choose how to get to them and sometimes you get WTF moments.
