Anything worth coming back for?

I've been getting the itch to play again and wondered what everyone thinks of all the new stuff. I read up on the new shield skills, but other than that, I don't really know anything about new things such as enscrolled items.

Are the shield skills pretty cool or are they overrated?

Everything is over rated and sucks. Nothing to see here.

I find myself playing the game less and less these days. Much of the reason is the number of players who are gone - almost all of the people I used to hunt and/or socialize with have moved onward.

gee, i wonder why GMs "burn out" before they can do anything when all they have to do is work as a host for half a decade before they can actually do work...

Everyone takes time to find the groove or the opportunity that fits the skill set. In 97-8ish i was heading out, and ended up as host, senior host, sage (remember that idea!), and by 2001 i was a GM. Just different for everyone.

You have to make your own opportunities some days. /shrug but Wyrom done a good job.

I say you give it a try for a month. If you don't find that reason for wanting to play, than you are only down 15ish dollars. The trick is to not be an anti-social person. If your character is evil.. hang out with other evil folks. Same if your a good character.. hang out with cheerful folks.

As Candor pointed out that a lot of the people he knew have moved on. Understand that you will constantly be making new friends as you play. (I know I have seen good friends stop playing and have been pushed to make new ones.)
