How does this look? I am really interested in seeing how the shield specializations will help. I plan on hunting in Nelemar or OTF since I have never been to teh scatter and know nothing about it. I like to group up and be the tank. i forget the spellburst formulas, but I should be able to wear some wizard spells safely with my magic skills trained thus. I hope.

I think Shield Riposte and Bash are worth looking into. Just in case you have things swinging at you in offensive. Riposte at level 3 will give it a bash that is equal to your Shield Bash level with 100% retaliation rank.

So say you're overwhelmed and you have both at max, you can offer a critter that's in offensive a good smack in the mouth with a shield.

Any particular reason to be training those MnS? Spells are great and all but not something I'd suggest you do until you fill in all your primary physical skills. Using a one-handed weapon, I'd prefer to have 135 ranks of MoC for five swings on your focused strike. Also, why 15 ranks of EMC? I have 10 of each SMC and EMC so that I have perfect share with anyone who has 100 ranks of more in them. 15, just seems like an odd number to me.

Here are both my maneuver lists:

I don't think I've really seen either elemental skill do anything for me and am pondering just dropping them to free up more points to put else where.

I use shield strike (with shield strike mastery) all the time with focused mstrike and love it.

Guild Skills versus CMANs: is there a difference? I think i may be wasting CMAN points by having powers duplicated in my guild skills. He is a master in all guild skills, so should I not have taken feint, disarm, etc?

I have a 67 wizard that I will be hunting with and GUARDing. she is not at 100 ranks of EMC, so I thought 15 ranks of share on the warrior would help. I havent played a capped warrior in Nelemar, but when I had my capped monk and wizard, it was TD spells and manuevers that killed. That is why I went up to 120 in the MnS list. My wizard can provide strenght, blurs and brilliants as needed up to spell burst. Jeril, do you think that MoC and 3x dodge is more important than the magics? I am using unpadded 7x plate armor and a 5x tower. I still need to get my shield ensorcelled actually to use some of those shield spec cmans. oh, for a weapon, I have a vanilla 7x morningstar.

Yes, you are wasting points by training in something you have mastered through the guild, guild versions are much better as you have 6.3 ranks in them vs 5.

You can train in magic skills more cheaply to offset spell burst then the cost of training those spells is the biggest thing. And there is nothing in the 100s circle that you can't get from someone else, although 120 would have to be imbedded. I say 3x dodge, 3x armor, and 2x perception before doing spells because they hurt your redux and you may as well make yourself as hard to hit as you can. Hunting in Nelemar and sticking to the third floor the only spell that will be dangerous is 335, so if you see a red mist in the room with you, move. Radicals are the ones who cast it and it is pretty hard to miss.

If you plan to guard someone a lot I'd suggest you look into guard mastery and tortoise stance. Spell block seems like a waste to me as bolt spells shouldn't be an issue for you or your wizard, I imagine it looks cool though. Unless they've changed phalanx I wouldn't train it and I don't know of anyone else who has. Shield forward seems like a bit of a waste as you shouldn't be getting hit by any AS attacks and shield riposte about the same way. I see spell mind as a waste because you have to be in defensive for it to work instead of killing whatever is attacking you. The duration is also pretty short at 10 seconds which is about enough time for one cast, maybe two, and at best the cool down is 45 seconds.

No, monk only.

I would take the duplicate cman points and put them into Griffin's voice. I also agree that you should have guard mastery and tortoise stance if you are regularly hunting with someone else. Trample is awesome, max it out, though if your partner ewave constantly, it may be a little redundant.

Spend some of those minor spirit tp's on more armor training and max out the right resistance for the area you plan to hunt.

Ah, must have converted back from monk and hasn't lost it yet. Another post recently showed it is a bug.
