Hello all. I was just trying to check off some pre-cap goals and was hoping to pick your brains too see how I was doing pre-cap wise.
Dwarf, THW (2x blink claidh w/ rot flares (lol))
Tanderick (at level 67), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:
Skill Name | Current Current
| Bonus Ranks
Armor Use..........................| 250 150
Combat Maneuvers...................| 238 138
Two-Handed Weapons.................| 238 138
Multi Opponent Combat..............| 160 60
Physical Fitness...................| 234 134
Dodging............................| 234 134
Arcane Symbols.....................| 111 27
Magic Item Use.....................| 145 45
Harness Power......................| 114 28
Disarming Traps....................| 5 1
Perception.........................| 234 134
Climbing...........................| 150 50
Swimming...........................| 170 70
Do I have enough swimming/climbing? What about AS/MIU (spellburst wise)? I followed the 27/42 ranks suggested and figured I could just keep singling in MIU just in case.
The reason I'm asking for advice is that I have kind of met what I thought were "pre-cap" goals. Should I increase dodge? Pick up more armor? More MOC for FoF offset?
I was thinking maybe disarm traps as I have a Glearnim Lockpicking Bracer that can detect traps for the ones I can't bash.

I'm almost the same level. My thoughts (compared to my character at least):
- Remember, you're only about halfway to cap.
- I'd try to 1x MOC. With berserk it's just so powerful.
- More than 2xing dodge I think is just too expensive for the benefits. That's a post-cap goal as far as I'm concerned.
- I still think more warriors should consider being more than 2x in Physical Fitness. It does more than you might think.
- Why so much perception, climbing, and swimming? I've got 40 ranks perception, 20 climbing, 20 swimming, never had an issue YET at least. That seems like way too much at your point and time right now. Remember if you're Sunfist master you'll get +20 ranks climbing, swimming, and survival for free from Sigil of Resolve.
- I'll let someone else answer about the spellburst and disarming and what your plans are there, I don't know enough about it.

Ambush is good for open aiming as well. I'd try to pick up 20 ranks. It's a vital hunting tactic in my experience.

And I'm not familiar with all the changes they've recently made to armor use, but I don't have any current plans to get more than 150 ranks myself.

I would recommend dropping dodge close to 1x while raising PT to as close as 3x as possible. You could drop swim and climb a bit. 40 ranks of ambusg seems to be the sweet spot for open aiming. More ranks of MoC would also be very beneficial, especially with berserk, as mentioned.

didn't they change blink so you had to know the spell? Not just be able to learn it.

How useful would a blink weapon be to warriors though? I imagine their CS would be pretty low.

What society are you in?
1x MoC, more swings and FoF offset. You can triple strike and that is the max rt you'll see from using it.
I'd go with the 1x disarm if that is something you really want to do.
As said, 40 ranks of ambush can be quite useful but it also depends on your style of play, if it fits go for it, if not don't worry about it.
Mechanics wise, depending on where you hunt you will want to 3x PF then dodge, or the other way around. I'd suggest 3x PF first for the Rift and 3x dodge first for Nelemar and OTF.
Armor is good to get close to max post cap because of the benefits from armor over training but I didn't do it until after PF and dodge.

I'd join in with the 3x PF crowd. More redux, more stamina and better maneuver defense. All three are good things in Plat ( if this is the Tanderick I know ) for self-efficiency. Auvreaian was working on getting to 1x in MoC was at 89 or so, give or take.

if you're berserking especially the PF. Keep those mstrikes chugging along. So it ends up being one of your best all-around defense skills, while also being a big offensive boost.

Mine's "set" to flare elemental wave. No CS check there :)
You swing a gold etched ora claidhmore at a lesser minotaur!
AS: +433 vs DS: +278 with AvD: +28 + d100 roll: +63 = +246
... and hit for 133 points of damage!
Quick, powerful slash!
The lesser minotaur's chest is ripped open!
The lesser minotaur is stunned!
Your gold etched ora claidhmore suddenly lights up with hundreds of tiny blue sparks!
A wave of dark ethereal ripples moves outward from you.
A lesser minotaur is buffeted by the dark ethereal waves and is knocked to the ground.

I'm a GoS Master.
Sounds like 3x PF is the way to go as well as working towards 1x MOC. I was thinking of the disarming traps because it can be hard to find a locksmith in Plat and Larton is a straight up thief.
Thanks for all of the advice!

If you are really tired of paying Larton, see how long it would take you to get 1x disarm.
