Tomorrow night starts Winterfest 5114!


Winterfest Opens: Crowning of Frost King and Queen
When: Thursday, December 11, 10pm
Where: White Haven Grand Courtyard
Description: Winterfest kicks off with the crowning of Frost King and Queen. Last month, citizens and travelers around Elanthia voted for who they wanted to see as this year's Frost King and Frost Queen to represent Winterfest 5114. The results are in, and tonight we crown the winners.

Raffle: diamond white robes
When: Thursday, December 11, 11:30pm (Elven Time)
Where: Town Center
Description: some diamond white robes shot with silver. You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph. Your careful inspection of some diamond white robes shot with silver allows you to conclude that it is cloth armor that covers the torso only. You determine that you could wear the robes around your chest. The robes appears to serve some purpose. It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of cloth. You analyze your diamond white robes and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions. The creator has also provided the following information: This item can be altered, but the noun must remain "robe" or "robes". You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the diamond white robes for you.

White Kobold Gift Exchange
When: Friday, December 12, 6pm (Elven Time)
Where: Stucco Well
Description: The game is simple. Each participant supplies one wrapped gift. The gifts are placed in a central location. The first person opens a wrapped gift and the turn ends. Gifts should typically be inexpensive, humorous items or used items.

Lucky Strike
When: Friday, December 12, 8pm (Elven Time)
Where: Willow Lodge
Description: Come and join Willow Hall in a game of chance. Everyone is a winner in this electrifying game. Join us in the Willow Hall Lodge for an evening of laughs and prizes.

Darts!
When: Saturday, December 12, 9pm (Elven Time)
Where: The Northern Fury Fortress
Description: The Northern Fury will have a game of 501 (double out) for all participants. Then a final game for the first three finishers to determine prizes.

Seasonal Cooking Contest
When: Friday, December 12, 10pm (Elven Time)
Where: Beacon Hall tent, outside Tartifacts Bakery
Description: Come celebrate Winterfest with Beacon Hall! We will be hosting a cooking contest, so come prepared to share your favorite seasonable recipes such as soup for the cold weather, cookies for the holidays, or whatever else warms your heart this time of year. Afterwards, we invite you to explore with us the tale of the winterberry; harvested only in the Icemule environs, this fruit makes a long journey down to River's Rest in the County of Torre where it is brewed into our favorite ale.

Raffle: a silver back sheath
When: Friday, December 12, 10:30pm (Elven Time)
Where: Outside of Armory
Description: a polished dark silver back sheath. At first glance, the silver back sheath looks expensive and finely made. However, if one looks closely, it's obvious that this item is a shoddy replica of something one would expect from a high-class armorer. Its imperfections take the form of poorly cut edges, and misaligned seams that run the length of the piece. Curiously, along the sheath's back is a small metallic catch, protruding from the leather like a little, crooked arm. You analyze your silver back sheath and sense that there is no recorded information on that item. It may or may not be able to be worked on by a merchant alterer. You can tell that the sheath is as light as it can get and that its pockets could not possibly get any deeper.

Raffle: silvery mithril armbands

Where: Outside of Wizard Guild
Description: a pair of thin silvery mithril armbands. The silvery mithril armbands has a single, empty setting. You carefully inspect your silvery mithril armbands. You determine that you could wear the armbands around your arms. The armbands appears to serve some purpose. It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of mithril. You analyze your silvery mithril armbands and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions. The creator has also provided the following information: 15/15/15 alterations only. Must remain sufficiently sized to hold a setting for a crystal. The silvery mithril armbands has a special socket for crystal prisms currently. You get no sense of whether or not the armbands may be further lightened.

Description: Join the House of the Argent Aspis for the most challenging race in Elanthia! On the parapets of the north wall of Icemule Trace, get ready to race along the Icewall for prizes and the joy of Winterfest!

CHE Solstice Tree Decorating Ceremony
When: Saturday, December 13, 2pm (Elven Time)
Where: Land's End, Wehnimer's Landing
Description: Please join Lord Ruthiford Pennington, the arch-steward of the Cooperative Houses of Elanthia, along with our esteemed house members to decorate the majestic evergreen at the Great House's Solstice Tent located at Land's End Road in Wehnimer's Landing. Each ornament displayed on the tree has been designed by the houses and will be available for purchase in the tent. Gifts and refreshments are available to all.

Where: Inside the North Gate
Description: a perfect maoral-hafted steel maul. You notice a small enchanter's glyph (4x) and Shorthammer's crafting mark.

The creator has also provided the following information: These bags house up to 10 living spiders that can be customized. Off the shelf bags have 1 spider with a randomized description. Only very special merchants can unlock the bags or add spiders. You MAY have the spiders altered, but they must remain spiders. You MAY alter the containers, but must remain web or spidersilk. Wandering Merchant

Description: A merchant will be stopping by to do some clothing and container altering only. The merchant is here to get you ready for the Winterfest Yule Ball if you like. Of course, you can get alters done for any occasion, but it's only on clothing and container items. Come prepared as the merchant will only be here an hour.

Where: Outside of the Icemule Historical Society
Description: a square blue slate chalkboard. You analyze your blue slate chalkboard and sense that there is no recorded information on that item. It may or may not be able to be worked on by a merchant alterer. You can tell that the chalkboard is as light as it can get and that its pockets could not possibly get any deeper.
Ticket Cost: 5,000 silvers

Winterfest Closes: Yule Ball
When: Sunday, December 14, 9pm (Elven Time)
Where: White Haven, Ballroom
Description: Winterfest ends its celebration with a Yule Ball. We'll begin the party and 9pm, but show up when you can. We won't end the party until everyone trickles out. We're shooting for an hour at least. Dress to impress tonight, because your Frost King and Queen will be watching and choosing one male and one female as best dressed. This will happen at 9:45pm. Winners will receive a special gift. Food and beverages will be provided.

Raffle: a polar bear hide
When: Sunday, December 14, 9:30pm (Elven Time)
Where: White Haven Ballroom
Description: a polar bear hide gathered by an alabaster medallion. You estimate that a polar bear hide gathered by an alabaster medallion can store a very large amount with enough space for any number of items. You determine that you could wear the hide, hanging it from your shoulders. The hide appears to serve some purpose. It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of organic material. You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the polar bear hide for you or have its pockets deepened.

The start of the race was the best part. I think everyone, including our Frost King and winner Roblar, fell on their arses at the go. I do wish it was longer, but all racers had a blast! I see this happening again next year from Argent Aspis I hope. And I look forward to the next Bardfest!
