I downloaded some software recently which had malware attached. I've got rid of it I think. My virus protector was working overtime until I did.
I've noticed that connect to chrome, I get the following in the address: https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=T7V8VPbqCPKq8wf-uYKYDA
What is all that shit that comes after the google.co.uk and should I be worried?
Any ideas?

I wouldn't even try to figure out what it is, just change your homepage settings back to whatever they were before.

Those are URL parameters, AKA stuff Google wants to track about your session.
the gfe_rd parameter means you went to google, and the Google Front End determined you should be redirected based on your country.
`ei` is Engine Id (or how you are getting tracked that session) across domains
