Tried to get one of my characters into using this but it's just not happening.

Four of the compartments in the wooden tea case house tea leaves. Looking closely, you count a full compartment of "Evening's Promise" tea leaves, one pinch of "Simmering Passion" tea leaves, one pinch of "Imaera's Amber" tea leaves, and one pinch of "Gathering Darkness" tea leaves. An elaborate gold-leaf frame is currently highlighting the compartment housing the "Simmering Passion" tea.

You analyze your wooden tea case and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

This wooden tea case can hold tea leaves for up to nine different flavors of tea. It may be altered witha long or a show as long as it makes sense for a glass-topped container with segmented compartments.
You can DROP in individual pinches of tea leaves or EMPTY jars, packets, or tins into the case. You can then TURN the box to indicate which tea you would like to choose, and PINCH the case to remove a single dose. This case is unlocked. It has special messaging for OPEN, GET, DROP, CLOSE, PONDER, and SMELL.
You can tell that the case is as light as it can get and that its pockets could not possibly get any deeper.
turn: You move the gold-leaf frame so that it is surrounding the compartment holding the "Imaera's Amber" tea leaves.
open: You lift the glass lid on your wooden tea case, locking the hinges in place to prop the lid open.
get: You pull out the lower drawer beneath the tea leaf compartments and remove a lilac packet from the wooden tea case.
put: You add a pinch of "Evening's Promise" tea leaves to the proper compartment in the wooden tea case.
drop: You pull out the wooden tea case's lower drawer and place your lilac packet inside. The packet secure, you close the drawer
close: You unlock the hinges on your wooden tea case and gently push down the glass lid to close it.
ponder: Four of the compartments in the wooden tea case are filled with tea leaves. You glance between them and ponder which to choose.
smell: You lean toward your wooden tea case and inhale deeply, closing your eyes as you do so. The strong, mixed fragrances of multiple tea blends fills your nostrils.
