Back in May I had picked Anaheim to win it all. When it came to pass that the Red Sox would be facing Anaheim in the Playoffs, I pretty much told all the Red Sox fans around me (I live in Boston, so that's a damn lot) to kiss their tails goodbye, and maybe next year.

The Sox are really taking it to them, I have to say I am surprised. If they keep playing like they are now (and find a way not to lose to my Yankees--that's if we can even beat Minnesota...won last night by the skin of our teeth) I don't see any reason why they can't win it all. Even St. Louis, as good as they look...I don't think they could be the Red Sox if they bring their A game.

...ugh, praising the Red Sox...how low I've sunk... ::cries softly::

The day there will be a salary cap in baseball, some teams (COUGH COUGH YANKEES COUGH COUGH) will find it a bit harder to win as easily as they do it now.

A bit out of topic, I know, but I'm still frustrated at the departure of the Expos.

The lack of a salary cap is why I don't watch baseball like I used to. Oh yeah, that and the strikes. And Barry Bonds.

Strike I can agree with. Salary caps wont really do a whole lot except bring the yankees down to a more nominal payroll. Unless teams like the brewers and tampa bay can generate more funds or the owners stop maximizing for profit there will still always be chump teams to beat up on. And if your going to tsk tsk the yankees I think you should also point fingers at boston and anaheim who both also top the 100mil mark which is 5x about the milwakee payroll.
