I don't have a college team, because New England. So, I tend to root against teams instead. The team's I decide to hate usually have a reprehensible figure making noise. This year, it's Winston, and as a result, Florida State, so I'm taking fiendish delight in seeing them upset so far tonight.

My "go to" hated team is Notre Dame, because of TV contracts long ago, with an unfair recruiting advantage.

Who do you hate? Does it change from year to year?

It's funny. I mainly hate teams in the NFL. I watch a lot more college than NFL though.

College is too confusing with so many divisions and teams.

To the degree that it exists, mine changes. I only really hated Florida during the Tim Tebow era. Ohio State and Notre Dame get far more love than they deserve, but I wouldn't say I hate them.

They're rivals of ND.

Yeah, it's easy to hate Tebow teams. I only hated ND because I'm old, and they were the only freaking team on TV at all. It was like the ND channel back in the 70s.

...and of course I'm using hate in the generic kind of non hateful way. More like an aversion.

I hate ND because every time they do good in a season, random ND fans pop out of the woodwork and try to talk shit. I had no idea we had so many ND fans in fucking Louisiana.

I doubt it is catholicism. Hell, I am Catholic. I'd be willing to be we are the minority in my city though.

No idea then. You'd think if it was to just oppose LSU they'd be fans of a different SEC team.

First time I saw it, it was the season they got f'd in the a by Alabama in the NC. I know some were going for ND just to beat Bama, but a lot jumped on the Irish bandwagon before it was even set to be those two teams playing.

They have all returned with a vengeance again this year, after fucking off last year.

Some Louisiana kid could probably get a sportswriting/history/anthropology thesis out of researching it. Interesting.

It is probably because Indiana ends in the same 4 letters as Louisiana.

The vagaries of fandom are baffling. Virginians have very weird NFL/MLB habits for instance.

That was the one year I actually rooted for Alabama. I've hated Notre Dame all my life; I've only hated Alabama since they became LSU's main competition in the SEC West.

I was yelling Roll Tide in that game. I was in the minority at the bar.

I don't like him because his voice annoys me. Jesse Palmer is awesome though.

Yeah. That section is classy and articulate. Definitely not Manziel style. The crying/hamming it up moments were the ones that sent me the opposite direction.

I liked Tebow until he got a spot on the SEC Network. It makes me physically uncomfortable to listen to him talk for an extended period of time. Dude is just awkward.
