Won this in the raffle at EG. I've had it lightened several times. it started out at 82lbs and is currently at 51. I may be able to get more done but no guarantee on that.

I had no idea about the mana or chance to absorb spells...or the ensorcell bit. Kind of makes me interested for my warrior in that case. Not worried at all about mana for my warrior, the ensorcell sucks but a chance to absorb spells sounds nice.
When it says absorbs spells I'm assuming this means beneficial spells as well as attack spells? Could I just simply take the armor off, receive spells/let my mana come back and cast spells then put the armor back on?

Items made of kroderine cannot be used by anyone that "cannot survive an attack by a dhu goleras," which is about level 78.
Is that true? You have to be level 78 to wear this?

It won't strip spells you are wearing.

yeah i was about to say...that's a pretty important bit. For some reason kroderine and zelnorn have stupid level requirements. (63 for the latter). It's like they were randomly decided on by the guy from pawn stars.
"Yeah sure you can use a weapon/armor set that is +50 and wondrous crit weighting/padding and possibly with some other insane combat scripts by level 25, but you want +10 extra AS or some spell absorbing that has extremely noticeable tradeoffs? Best I can do is level 63."

Yeah these arbitrary level limits are fucking stupid. They want people to have fun and get involved but then... you can't play with any of it until you play for 5+ years? What the fuck.

Ryjex has like 20m+ exp after about 18 months or so without any scripting.
He does get to play while at work though, so there's that. But yeah, it's definitely possible without afk scripting.
All those Kenstrom RPAs didn't hurt either.

At 1500 exp per hour that is 13,333 hours. 8 hours a day playing will put you just under... 4.56 years.
been playing since gemstone first came out free on aol. 1 lvl 64, 1 lvl 63, 1 lvl 40, 1 lvl 25, sigh.... my average play time is like 2 hours a month any more.

That means he levels really slow. If you spend all your time levelling, you can cap in under a year.

The whole point is that GMs actively discourage that this type of gameplay yet put items in to encourage it. Do you want people to interact or power hunt for 1 year?

The only thing I ever saw them actively discouraging is AFK scripting.

Don't a lot of enhancive items default at mid 60's level requirements? Edited to add that they're a bit all over the place.

Which most likely drop in level appropriate areas.
Add to the fact that you don't actually need any of that stuff. I dabbled with enhancives a few times, but I was already wrecking crap with my 10x maul anyways.... Which required level 25.

You think so? I always found the pay-outs worse the higher up in hunting you went. 50ish hunting in remote areas seemed to do best.

I think 60s-70s was the best. It dries up after that, I felt, because there are more people over that range so the higher hunting areas are usually picked dry.
When the current iteration of minotaurs were released, for example, that place was super rich... Because no one ever hunted there because fuck mazes. Now everyone knows how to do it so it became average again.

According to Simu, capped critters have the potential to drop higher end items than other areas are capable of producing.
The problem with this is that it just never happens, and I pretty much take their statement with a grain of salt.

increased base chance - hunting pressure treasure pushdown + massive overcrowding for the few capped areas = GET FUCKED, lulz here's 70 silver

I'm not talking about the base chance. I'm talking about the top end of what items can drop as far as quality goes, despite the fact that it would have like a .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000001% chance to actually drop.
But with the way Simu views high end items, even then it would probably barely be better than what you'd find in a level 70 area with a much higher drop rate, i.e. that 10x claid might only be able to be found in a capped area, but by the time it did drop, about 800 9x claids were already found in a level 70 area.
