Has anyone heard anything about Ebon Gate Festival this year? Shouldn't the tickets be on sale by now?

EG pwns all. Certainly my favorite merchant event. Just the sheer number of cool stuff you can get off the shelf...the darker theme and the hilarious merchants not to mention a lot more death. Go death.

I kind of agree. People who go to Ebon's expecting it to be the Dhu in terms of services are usually disappointed.

People who go to Ebon's expecting a lot of fun and shopping, some gambling and games usually have a lot of fun.

I'm not berating either mindset, by the way :)

Weird. I know for a fact that he does the Huntress and Arachne, both of whom are neutral... maybe he only does the "darker" neutral ones? :shrug:

Ebon's Gate is only second best to the Artisan's Faire, IMO. I've gone to it every year since I started playing... when are the tickets going to go on sale, already!

First year I went it sucked, but then I was also in school all day and worked at night. Didn't get a single thing done. I went last year and it was a riot. I had a lot more time to spend in game and it was worth the money.

If you go expecting to just have a lot of fun it will be. The side guests and just interation with the various ghosts and ghouls who walk around the grounds is always amusing. I don't go because I expect to get super items and crap like that.

I used to think so too, til I got talked into going last year and had a blast. I didn't get any uber items or whatever, but all the neat games and off the shelf stuff made it well worth it to me. I also got my first alter ever! :)

I'm hesitant to give them more of my money when they can't finish their freakin projects on time. Not like it's anythin new, but I don't normally goto pay events..it'll probably be crowded as shit anyways..

Actually, I've yet to see an EG not be finished on time. I've gone for the past two years running, including last year's Plat version, and I've had a blast both times. Definitely going this year!

I don't find much fun in items being overpriced because they have neat words like "Fluffy" or "Executioner" (sp?) or "asohgpousdghpioua" in them. It's pointless. Given, there are some neat items and events, I just don't go crazy when I see "a fluffy executioner asohgpousdghpioua pumpkin" on a shelf.

I pested him twice and was told no way and in general Niima was a whore he wouldn't do... ( not in those words but that was the jist)

So I can only sit in his shop and hope...

I amnot angry just hopeful and it will be fun asking again for it..

This year I will do a bit of both as the contests were fun and had nice prizes...

PANIC MODE HAS NOW JUST SET IN.


So today, I'm online, reviewing slides for a test today and then *blip*, I get kicked offline. I try three more times to log on, check the phone line several times, and have no luck.

SO, I call the phone company and they detect "a problem in the area". I figure they'll have it fixed later after I get done with my test and all will be well.

THEY DIDN'T FIX IT. They called and said someone would come out and check the box tomorrow. TOMORROW!?! As much as I would have loved to have screamed 'OH MY GOD YOU HAVE TO FIX IT ASAP BECAUSE EBONS GATE STARTS IN TWO DAYS!!!'

But, I didn't.

Hopefully it will be fixed by Friday evening, else I have to beg my parents to let me stay at their house and use their wireless until all hours of the night.

Website says gates close at 4 pm eastern on Monday but it's subject to change as all simu things are heh. However, last year they ran all week to shop and a few merchants sporatically showed up off and on during that time. I'm kinda disappointed it won't run all week this year, cause I wanted to take my time shopping from monday through thursday rather then during the weekend. :(

I went last year and I got like two I think. It all depends but you lose your chances because more people go to EG than like the Dhu so the crowds are bigger and the lines are longer.

Depends really, I always found Ebons to be more for the shopping than the alters but if you are a good enough merchant hunter you will get a few. :)

More FYI from the official boards. Of interest to anyone who attended EG and didn't get anything yet.



Some unnamed merchant will be showing up around 11pm EST tonight (or maybe sometime shortly thereafter) to do work for folks that haven't gotten work done yet at the festival. He'll most likely stop at around 20 or 25 folks, if there are that many by now.

He may stay around for folks that have had some work done after he's finished, but that's still up in the air. Should know after about the first 15 minutes.
