Anyone have information on the last Gladiator Games that took place like a year or two ago? Maybe some logs, or a list of Houses that were at the top?

I'm looking to join a House that has decent fighters in it, and can't find anything about the last games either here or on the officials.

The last one was like August 2002. I competed and won 15 points for Silvergate. We won.

They were supposed to have another one around the same time GSIV was scheduled to be released. Never happened. They were supposed to have one this summer. Never happened.

How's Silvergate like? The only house I applied to so far has been Aspis, but they have a minimum wait of 90 days until they decide. I heard the Glad Games are coming December, but if they come sooner, I'm screwed if I can't get in Aspis. I'd want to join Aspis only because I have friends there, but I'd do other houses.

So anyways, Silvergate..is it good? I'll check out the info on requirements myself, but is it a good House.

<<is it good?>>

Yes.

<<The only house I applied to so far has been Aspis, but they have a minimum wait of 90 days until they decide.>>

hahahahaha

You don't apply to Silvergate. You show up and pay 5k.

<3 Paupers.

However, how come it's 20k to get into Paupers, and 5k to get into Silvergate? LE DUMB.

At least, it was 20k 5 years ago.

It's still 20k.

If you want a pure PWNage House, and really I'm not sure why that matters to you, look into Arcane. Of course, they'd never accept you into even Apprenticeship, but look into it. In the real Glad Games back in the day, Arcane was pretty fearsome.

I was just asking since I wanted to join a House that had decent fighters in it. I went for Aspis because I knew some people there, plus they had a decent chance last games, from what some of the members told me.

IMO, every CHE has good fighters in it. Even Sovyn, which caters to clerics and empaths, has its slew of elders who are capable of ranking very high in this year's Glad Games for their level/slot.

Each CHE (Cooperative Houses of Elanthia) has different requirements for joining... whether it be open to only some professions (ie. Twilight and magic users), Pheonix (only Volners), or based on age, etc. Each house also has different fees. The MINIMUM a house requires for induction is 5k (Silvergate chose to keep the minimum). Other Houses such as Paupers, Brigatta, etc. charge more and no monthly or quarterly fees. The money collected from members goes into the House coffers and funds House events and expenses.

Forget Arcane unless you're level 50 or higher.

Aspis is dedicated to helping younger adventurers, Beacon Hall is dedicated to preserving history/culture and teaching it, Helden Hall is dedicated to sword slingers and warriors, Obsidian Tower is the Dhe'nar home and dedicated to preserving RPing, Silvergate is the only working Inn that also allows the public inside and able to rent rooms, etc.

With every House comes the standard perks of larger locker, nodes in the House, House specific events, etc. Some houses are very political, others are not (aka Paupers and Brigatta). Some have membership meetings, others don't.

If you're just looking for a House to join for the Glad Games and one that has good fighters, any House will do but many won't let you in for that purpose. If someone came to me to join Brigatta for that reason alone, I'd laugh them away. If, however, you are looking for a place to also call Home, do your research. Visit the House web sites.

Phoenix is not now, nor has it ever been only for members of Voln. The rule is, you cannot be a member of the Council of Light. Voln and Phoenix are not related, nor are they alligned, nor do they have the same purpose. The purpose of the House of the Rising Phoenix is the destruction of the Unlife, which hasn't actually existed since the ICE-age, but that's another story.

To get into Phoenix you must pass two interviews, be ten or more trainings, not a member of the Council of Light, (Durring the initiation ceremony, if you are a member of CoL, it will be found out) and pay 40,000 silvers. Interviews are at 9 PM EST on wednsdays, and 11 AM EST on saturdays, in front of Phoenix.
