[Wehnimer's, Talon St.]
The street runs between the northern palisade and the central square to the south and east. The traffic is varied here, as a few traders and travelers mingle on the dark streets with the ever-present and watchful militiamen. The damaged walls of Cholgar's Bathhouse occupy nearly the entire block. You also see a ruined wooden rolton with a dilapidated sign on it.

A passing goodman suddenly points a finger at you! "Hey! I recognize you! You're the banned outlaw, Tayre. Someone call for the law, quickly!"

A quartet of burly deputies bursts in, closely followed by the night watchman.

With great ease, the night watchman grabs you and shackles your wrists.

"Ah-ha! The boys at Helga's said I might find something interesting here," says the night watchman.

With a keen eye, the night watchman glances over you quickly. He says, "We'll not have you dying before sentence is carried out. Let's get you healed up, though there will of course be a slight charge for it." With that, a demure looking city official, evidently an empath, comes forward and heals all your maladies.

The night watchman then drags you off.

Arriving at the jail, the night watchman strips you of your possessions, opens a strong ironbound door and throws you bodily to the darkness within the door. "There thou wilt remain until the judge has words with thee!" he chortles gleefully.

With a dull thud and rattle of keys in a lock, the door closes and locks, leaving you trapped within.
[Wehnimer's, Jail Cell]
Dirty walls surround you, and a metal-banded door blocks your only exit. From somewhere in the darkness you can hear the sound of a creature moving about.
Obvious exits: none

How do you get un-banned from a town?

Soulpieced
10-05-2004, 10:39 PM
You don't get banned in the first place by not bone shattering people in town every opportunity you get.

YOU'RE REAL FUCKING FUNNY SOULPIECED.

SHUT YOUR ARROGANT ASS UP.

hint: If you commit a crime in that town, your 6 month timer resets, whether you get arrested or not. So if you wait 5 months 29 days, then commit another crime, you wait another 6 months to get unbanished.

Well I guess I'm going to be banished the rest of the time I play Gemstone because seriously, how can I not go into Landing once in Six months? Besides if I quit for 6 months. Which would probably be better for me anyway.

You should write a strategy guide to gemstone.

It takes so many arrests to get banished, if you showed any self control or restraint at all, it wouldn't have happened.

I know you used to be able to sign of darkness out of the jail, that was jailbreak...how do you do it nowadays?

You have to curse a lockpick to your hand and pick your way out, I think.

Drew

I thought it was if you didn't report back from community service?

PS: I just leave any arrows shot in my characters in them until they get arrested, no wounds for pulling them out!

It isnt a year. It probably just seems like that.

But the only way to get unbanned is to stay out of town.

I was banished for 6 months from Vaalor and I only killed 3 people (I was doing a public service) and I was shafted. That, along with not understanding being banished meant I got 6 high crimes charges meant a long exodus.

When I was unbanished I went back to Vaalor and hated it, so was glad I got banished in the first place. Who would wanna be part of that bunch of twats?

Bobmuhthol

Jailbreak: Opening your belongings box without paying your fine or completing community service. Yes, this is possible. Yes, you get charged for it.

Jail door: Unpickable.

<<You have to curse a lockpick to your hand and pick your way out, I think.>>

Your items automatically get neutralized when you're arrested, and they even add the service to your fine.

19 counts of murder and 16 counts of High Crimes is not showing restraint....

It's going on a rampage.

10-06-2004, 07:22 AM
Out of morbid curiousity, is there some sort of formula that equates to one's being kicked out of a town? Perhaps a certain number of murders comitted = instantaneous getting kicked out?

Nieninque
10-06-2004, 07:27 AM
Lots of variables as to how such as:
Town youre in
Race you are.
Type of crimes
Timescale crimes are committed in.
?time it takes to arrest you?
probably loads of others too.

p.s. High crimes is simply being seen in town by an NPC or reported by a PC as being in a town you are banished from.

LOL.. you have no one to blame but yourself Tayre. How stupid are you to kill that many people in town.

Weedmage Princess
10-06-2004, 08:47 AM
This is why you do your hardest to kill people outside of town. Find out where they hunt, wait outside the gate, bribe people if you have to, etc. etc.

I don't know if this would help or not but have you tried getting an invisibility imbed?

Warriorbird

J/K, Tayre!

Seriously, that sucks but you really can't blame anyone but yourself.

Killing people in town because you feel like it isn't that cool. But, from the logs I've seen you do tend to stay in character when it comes to conflicts, minus Psinet, and IM's probably, and whatever OOC median people use to point out idiots.

There are a number of things which can cause you to get charged with High Crimes. Kicking the Constable, for one

If being found in a town you're banished in causes the charge, that explains why his is so high.

Joxter
10-06-2004, 01:47 PM
Kicking the constable is considered a High Crime against the state? Thought it would be more involved.

They changed that. It's assault.
