I realize there are rules, but there are also different levels of enforcement. I was not grinding out level 35 in 30 days or afk for 20 hours so it was a bit of a surprise. I'm hardly what you would call an evil no-gooder that should be attacked by staff even if I skirt rules a bit. I'm not really upset about anything, but there is no reason to play here if I don't enjoy it, and I was playing in the fashion that I enjoy without hurting anyone. I'm happy it happened when he was only 11 to be honest.

Take your thinking out to real life... is it ok for someone to steal a pack of gum? It isn't hurting anyone and is such a small thing after all. Speaking as someone who did Loss Prevention for a business, I had to interview an employee who stole a pack of gum - they lost their job due to it.

Happened to me in RR. Chomped some herbs because no one was responding to my healing requests, 5 minutes into my hunt I get checked along the lines of "why are you killing so many of my friends?" Bitch, I JUST got here. Sorry to repeat myself but it I don't have lich, and my "hunting" script is a basic loop of swing/loot/try to stand. They don't move me or heal me or skin things or pick up items, but apparently some cock smoking joker in RR making a rediculous claim with nothing to back it up was enough to get the dogs sent after me.

This was my first script check so it confused the shit out of me and I almost died trying to respond to a stupid spider in a stupid hat while simultaneously battling a grizzled whatever it was. Anymore I welcome script checks, get them RPAs fam!

Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm not generally opposed to scripting, because frankly, I have a habit of running trivia or yammering on lnet rather than paying attention to the two characters who are bigshot hunting, and that results in me being semi-afk more often than I should admit. Given that, it's very, very rare that I'll report someone else for scripting.

In fact, I've only done it once, and it wasn't because someone was whipping around the area and spamming words on my screen. It wasn't because they were pulling me to my feet when I knelt to skin. It wasn't because they were bothering my character in any way physically. It was because they messed with my loot.

It seems that a few people here in the past few pages think that you're less likely to get script checked if you're off the beaten path. River's Rest, for example, and in my own experience, that's the opposite of the case. In the Landing, you're just another face in the crowd sitting at TSC. In the Crystalline Cavern in Zul Logoth, you're either Clunk, me, someone just there for a minute to do a Sunfist task, or someone noticeable. So right off the bat, you're noticed. That's not good for someone trying to fly under the radar.

So I've noticed you. We've talked to you a few times, though you didn't respond. That's fine. It took two more weeks for me to report you, for example, and it had nothing to do with your lack of responsiveness. It was because you turned my uncut emeralds and rubies into boulder opals by hunting my hunting ground 24/7 without rest. That's where I'll report you. If you did it in the Landing, most of those hunting grounds are frequently hunted anyway, and at the bottom of the barrel for their loot as it is. In Zul Logoth, and I'm assuming places like River's Rest, that's not the case. When you turn rich into mediocre by virtue of being there 24/7, that's when you're affecting my gameplay, and that's when I'll report. And did. Just once. I'd be willing to bet that being noticed and turning rich hunting grounds into meh hunting grounds are the biggest reasons people report AFK scripters. Smaller populations are not safer for scripting. They're more dangerous.

Not a fair comparison. Those at the top with the exception of a scant have made it to the top through years of metchaning and being capped hunting overall more affluent areas for years. There attained wealth is through harder work than most people put into jobs. You clicking ;bigshot and checking the account every 3 hours is vastly different than how they climbed to the top. While I am envious of the top 1% I understand why they are where they are.

I don't care if people bigshot all day errday but I hope if we bump into each other you are there, we don't have to RP but if I am chasing a nod of recognition isn't unthinkable.

Warnings, whether you delete the character or not, stick with the player and the account, and on top of that, anyone that possesses any piece of that account. When you get busted on multiple accounts, it compounds your warnings.

As for handling the epidemic of AFK scripting in another, more automated way, I don't think you'd want that. We'd probably reduce our playerbase quite a bit of a system handled this without GM input. We're typically very lenient with our checks.

The reason why the wording is odd is because there is a difference between your first ever warning and a 1st time offense.

it would be easy these days. Instant mind clearers come to mind. I can make 20k xp running through Reim for 2 hours. Constant ADVGuild quests, where the over xp, 200-300, goes instantly into your xp pool is another.

At cap, with a 110 base logic, normally a 135 while resting, you can get a lot of xp per pulse. my best straight login session, with lots of xp mods, was in my 70's and I did over 76k in one sitting.
