Muslim Woman DENIED Entrance to U.S. Pool UNLEASHES on Employees
http://i1.wp.com/madworldnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/MuslimPool2.jpg?resize=634%2C270
Management at a Colorado recreational facility upset a Muslim woman after they denied her access to swim in their pool wearing her full Islamic garb layered on top of a pair of pants and a shirt.
“Why do I have to be half naked to swim? To enjoy my time with my kids?“ Sabah Ali sobbed to the pool employee. “I want to have the same rights as every citizen.”
Despite her clothing conforming to her religious beliefs, it was not pool-appropriate attire and was against the recreational center’s rules, located just outside of Denver in Commerce City, according to local news ABC7.
Ali offered to remove her “Islamic dress” and swim in the pants and shirt she had on instead, a suggestion that was also denied as it does not qualify as “specified swimming attire” which is all the center allows.
http://i1.wp.com/madworldnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/MuslimPool1.jpg?resize=630%2C345
The pool attire rules are in place for good reason. Michelle Halsted, a Commerce City spokeswoman, said the rules not allowing street clothes are best practices for public health and safety, and they include options ranging from rash guards to full body swimsuits, the Denver Channel reported.
Halsted insisted the rules are not discriminatory, but are equally enforced for all. Health in a public facility such as this are of utmost concern.
“The city routinely turns away people who don’t have appropriate swimwear — jean shorts, sport shorts, not wearing swim diapers,” said Halsted. “We turn all those individuals away because the No. 1 focus for us is safety.”
Wearing street clothes in the pool can increase the likelihood of contamination and waterborne illness, Halstead noted. However Ali denied that claim saying she has worn the same clothes in public pools before with no problems.
Civil rights attorney Quasair Mohamedbhai disagrees with the center’s policy of prohibiting Ali’s religious garb. Mohamedbhai said public places must take pains not to discriminate based on religious beliefs.
“These policies should be reevaluated to ensure that Muslims are included and have full access to the Commerce City Rec Center,” Mohamedbhai told ABC7.
The city’s rec center seems to be backing down now, allowing civil rights whiners to usurp public health and safety concerns. Halsted told the Denver Channel that the city is going to update its swimwear brochure to include full body swimsuits and burkinis.
“We will also be talking to other aquatic centers about what they do to find a balance between religious exceptions and public safety,” said Halsted.
It’s preposterous that an immigrant to this country can demand rules to be change to accommodate their religious beliefs despite what is beneficial to the majority.

Apparently burkinis are a real thing. Shows too much ankle if you ask me, that dirty, dirty whore. You can tell she's just asking to be sexually assaulted at the end of the next war.

Flashback to 1986, a young Ker_Thwap receives a six week tour of Europe for his college graduation gift. Level of difficulty, it's a family trip. My sister can't go, so we bring along Grandma. A racist old lady, born in Northern Ireland, who has spent the last seventy years firmly entrenched in the suburbs of Methuen, Massachusetts; what could go wrong?!
The further we along in the trip, the worse she gets. Nothing at all was making her happy, everything was different. It culminated in a restaurant in Cologne Germany. She starts getting pissy, because we're at a fancy white tablecloth place and the barbarians didn't put out glasses of water with the bread like all civilized people do. So, demonstrating the height of culture, she yaps at the waiter "you forgot the water! The waiter, of course didn't speak English and just kind of gave her a bemused shrug? She then went into a three minute profanity laden tirade to the effect of WATER, I WANT WATER YOU DIRTY KRAUT, DON'T YOU PRETEND YOU DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH, SOMETHING, SOMETHING ABOUT THE WAR, WATER!!!! At this point, I remembered the word wasser, and the poor kid brought her a glass of water. At which point she started screaming again, because she thought everyone at the table should have been brought a glass of water, just like they do in Methuen.
Amazingly, we didn't get kicked out. Through a lot of telephone calls, we did manage to get her tranquilized for the rest of the trip.

You do have a point but mental health is just as serious as physical health. Given your situation I think you should have gotten one. The thing about drone pilots is unlike the soldiers that deploy to the theater, completely separated from their civilian life, these guys have to balance both combat operations as well as their day to day lives. Go into work, drop bombs, kill people, leave work and go to pick up your kids or whatever. This isn't just my opinion either, this is what actually happens and they're finding that pilots are under extreme amounts of stress.

If it were up to me is give everyone medals, Arrested Development style.
It is different. It is lesser though. As I said, the should be recognized. It isn't the same though.
Look, they didn't have to get new cammies because it was covered in their friend's blood. They didn't have to wipe the terp's brains off of them. They were a lot more distant. Hell, my Grandfather used to drop bombs from his B52 all over Vietnam. How is that different? Except that he saw planes not make it back...

Somehow I missed this pissing contest about serving in the military. Not sure how the thread devolved into where it is but I will throw in my my two cents in here. In the Army the term grunt is usually a slander by the more "educated MOS" folks that is typically directed at infantry. I'm not sure of anyone's military background here and to be honest its pretty hard to actually prove anything like that since we live under a certain amount of anonymity here. However, without knowing the above it could be that WB is using grunt as the derogatory term because he is stating he was MI. To him its a slam even if to Gelston its a badge of honor.
I served in Desert Storm in 91 and have to say that I typically do not go around telling "war stories" to folks. Some things are too personal. However, I have answered questions from friends before about what its like, so I wouldn't say I keep everything locked in. Having said that I think that the conflicts after Desert Storm have been far more involved and fatal than most of what we encountered.
And before it becomes another pissing match, I was a 31G with the 1/15th Infantry, 3rd ID. Stationed out of Schweinfurt Germany.

Well, not to completely ignore the military stuff of the last couple pages, but I've been in two positions at a local community center. I was a wrestling coach for youth African American children primarily *An anti-gang program that me and several other guys founded a few years back*. On top of that, I was a lifeguard. We had a pool and it was one simple rule. Don't wear your street shit or you get kicked out. It's very god damned simple. It was explained, in-depth, in a seven mini-page explanatory brochure that explained that unless you are wearing specific swimwear, your clothes catch germs. And hold onto them. Your jeans. Your jackets. Your turban. Everything. Nobody got to go in the pool while wearing anything like that. There was a small shop off to the side of the pool area that sold skintight swim caps, swim shorts, onesies/bikinis for women *Although, no burkinis and I had NO clue that was a THING, but hey nifty*, and swim diapers for children.
Very. Fucking. Basic. It's not clean for you to take your nasty ass clothes, no matter how much you assert they're clean, and get in a public pool. Walking down the street's fucking dirty for your clothes. Them being on your body is dirty. You're gnarly, and sweaty, and that's just straight up truth. You don't get into a public pool with clothes you've been wearing for a while. You change out of them, put on swim clothes that are clean and at least mostly sanitary, and you go swim. Duhhh.
This chick needs to lay off the brown acid because this is just stupid. Put on a burkini and be happy. At least they gave a fuck enough to say a burkini is acceptable. But I'll damn well bet you if you wear it anywhere but in the pool, you won't be allowed IN the pool with it. We never let anyone go into the pool if they'd been out playing or looked nasty. We had showers for boys and girls at one end of the pool in their own rooms, and you could only get in once you'd showered yourself.
Rules are rules. This is just dumb.

Woah guys, stop it. This thread is now for Gelston to drunkenly decide who is actually deserving of medals, explain why positions that weren't his are inferior, say people who don't serve aren't as deserving of respect, demand service histories, and call people fags.
You know, all those things that make alcoholic ex-service members great.
You know you are a dumb idiot when Wrathbringer quotes your post and says QFT.

I'm willing to concede that in the vast majority of cases, but not in this one.

They didn't offer the option of a burkini until AFTER she protested. The system works.

Waxing requires too much grow-out for my tastes, and barely lasts longer than shaving. I say thee NAY.

My wife went with the laser. I'm pretty sure they use the same one that Chairface tried to carve his name onto the moon with in The Tick.

My uncle lives in Commerce City and there is no way I would even shower with city water much less swim in it. And they are worried about public health from people wearing street clothes?
