As a sunfister 'mend' really negates the need for first aid training. Nevertheless Ive almost completed survival training after maxing on first aid, primarily for the skinning tasks for the Adv.Guild.

I woke up a few days ago thinking about dumping both first aid and survival and training in another attacking skill like TWC. The thought is becoming an itch I want to scratch at the moment.

Any other warriors got views on Sunfisters not having any (or much) first aid / survival training? Just canvassing views before I use my fixskills.

Survival skill seems to be quite helpful in a range of situations. I bet you'd end up missing it especially for guild tasks (skinning, foraging, spotting bandit traps if those bother you).

As you said though first aid for a sunfist type isn't very helpful unless you are skinning or frequently rescuing people in an area with few empaths.

Yeah. I think sometimes training in what I always categorise as 'utility' skills seems very time consuming, especially compared to the more dramatic killing skills.

Will have a think before I make any final decisions. Thanks for the response.

Even with mend it can still be useful at times to have first aid. If you pop your muscles for example.

Huh, what can you do with first aid for popped muscles?

I've never trained in first aid or survival with any of my warriors, sunfist or not.

he means if you have no stamina to mend, first aid is a good backup

You can't use mend with popped muscles.

What would be the point? As soon as you do anything your bandages will break and you'll start bleeding again, so you might as well go to town and get healed anyway.

With 202 ranks of first aid I can eat herbs in the field rather quickly, I also use the tending skill a lot on dead people. Survival helps with a lot of things, skinning, foraging, spotting bandit traps, staying out in the cold, and slipping less on the Icemule trail. I've had Jeril trained in both for so long they are part of his character and I'd never get rid of them.

The point would be if you can't get back to town quickly.

In that case you deserve to die.

In that case you deserve to die.

That makes no sense at all.
