I am curious what would be the best two-hander palading CMAN to disable the turtle caster types. As a paladin, I love up-hunting, but can't seem to find a reliable CMAN. It seems like feint is too level restrictive, so if a target is 10 levels above me, it's not likely to be susceptible to feint. Does bullrush work well? I can't use 1615 reliably at my train because I won't have sufficient mana.
Should I just wait until 1615 is reliable, or does Feint start working on up-hunted targets soon (currently able to train rank 3).

Sadly, combat maneuvers are restricted by level so it won't matter which one you pick they will all be equally poor against higher level creatures. Once you start hunting creatures that are 5 levels above you, you'll start to see your margin for success decrease. At 10+ levels outside of open rolls you aren't going to be able to maneuver anything.

Although, being rank 2 feint isn't exactly helpful. I didn't really see it reliably work on anything until rank 4 or so.

The thing is that with up hunting so high his chances of feint working might as well be zero. Hunting lichs( which are 5-15 levels over me) as a master of feint and with a bonus of 43(wspec, bonding, moonstone cube, symbol of supremacy), feint will only work on the lower level spawns without me getting lucky. Your rank 4 vs rank 3 is only giving you a +15 on your margin of success and a bit more room to up hunt, although not by much

Hrmm, that's unfortunate. I remember hunting with my warrior in Pinefar (years ago) and being able to tackle targets 8-10 trains higher than my character pretty reliably. Of course, he was a giantman, and mastering in a guild skill is effectively what 1.3 ranks more than max you can get from CMAN training?
Shield Bash used to be pretty solid though, but alas... I don't really prefer shields.

This may not be a cman route to knock things down, but it does use feint.
I use feint to open them up (generally a 150+ endroll will make them fully offensive, save for a few critters) and then aim at their leg to knock them over. If the feint fails, I try again and if that feint fails I just use 1615 to make them kneel and then mstrike them because they are bastards. I have a lvl 100 OHB paladin that does that to very good results. If I know they can't harm me with attacks or spells I sometimes just let them swing/cast first and then go on the offensive. My build is more defensive so I'm sure you can't allow them to be offensive for long due to lower DS and not having a shield. Max feint, get some lore to make your 1615 kneel chance increase and go from there. Bull rush could be an option if you are a larger race, but not so much if you are a smaller race.
Hope that helps

it's overlooked so often. 118, mstrike target, search, repeat.

BTW, that weapon in your avatar isn't an AT-4.
This is an AT-4
