Thats really cute. I had one of them when I was little.
I had a more...erm...advanced version in mind, one that I can use to do drawings straight into electronic format, rather than drawing and then scanning, if you know what I mean.

If you're a naturally good drawer, it'd be probably be good. If you're decent, you'll probably get better and apparently it's easier to do sketches. If you're not good, it might not be a great idea.

I thought I needed it until I got Adobe Illustrator. Lemme just say, holy crap the pen tool on that program kicks ass. No drawing tablet needed.

I've heard that Wacom makes the best tablets.
Expensive, though.

Wacom is good but sometimes, depending on the other software running on the computer, they can be a real bitch to get calibrated and working properly. I have set up a few of them in labs at work and they don't like a few of our software suites. But yeah they are good gear.

So you would recommend Wacom?

Ordered a wacom intuos3 to see how they work.
Might save up for a better one if it works out. Will let you know how it goes

I got my graphics tablet today and it is awesome.
Takes a bit of getting used to but I love it.
So much easier all round than trying to do graphicy stuff with a mouse.
just did a two minute drawing with it - nothing special, just messing around.
Love it and thanks for the recommendation :)
Edited to add the drawing

You are a great artist, I'd have thought those were pencil drawings scanned.
Now... can you create a porn comic strip with me as the superhero?

Spun it was about £140 (around $280 I think) , the software came with it and the additional software came courtesy of emule.
And thank you all for the compliments.
It's so much fun to play around with.

Well I couldnt be bothered to look through all the picture post thread to find the picture of you. I can only do that when there is extreme hatred (i.e. X) or extreme desire (i.e. no-one here)
Send me the picture or put it in your photo gallery
Very nice work... Impressive in fact.
