The first one is gorgeous (if too close in hue to the red carpet). I would feel like a princess in it. I'm not so fond of the other two however. The wispy skirted one looks like a mistake from the waist down, and the silver one is too short. It would have been lovely and lush had it been actual floor length. The proportion is just wrong in my opinion.

The first one is gorgeous (if too close in hue to the red carpet). I would feel like a princess in it. I'm not so fond of the other two however. The wispy skirted one looks like a mistake from the waist down, and the silver one is too short. It would have been lovely and lush had it been actual floor length. The proportion is just wrong in my opinion.The first one really spoils it for everyone else in the world, it's just amazing. I wasn't in love with the skirt on #2 either but I liked it enough to be overruled by my friend's DEEP affection for it. I see what you're saying about #3 (and now I can't un-see it) but I think it still works.

Second one: mehI don't really get how looking hairy is supposed to work for a dress, but I love it from the waist up.

First: Hmm. Pick a gown that covers your underwear or don't wear underwear. Nobody wants to see your bra straps. Second: Pretty but a little too debutante-ish. Third: I like it but it's doing weird things around her hips. Also, it looks like she's trying to channel Angelina Jolie with that leg and hip flung out.

First: I like Mindy and I think she chose well. Second: Lovely. Third: Why would you purposely pick a gown that accentuates your waist but not in a good way? It makes her look wider there.

I see your point about the cleavage, but if you saw the turbosluts parading around at the event you'd find it MODEST in comparison. My friend observed that it looked more like the AVN Awards than the VMAs, and while I have never heard of AVN or any kind of pornography I see what she means.

Maybe it's her unfortunate choice of stance for the photo. The gown is actually quite modest, everything is covered except a leg slit and what looks like a gaping neckline in the shot.

All in all the Met red carpet offered DRAMATICALLY more elite outfits than other events, but interestingly a huge number of utter catastrophes as well. They were boom or bust, but plenty of boom.
