While bored, I was looking over some images from the Hubble telescope. I happen to stumble upon this: http://imgsrc.hubblesite.org/hu/db/2004/28/images/a/formats/print.jpg

I kind of blinked in disbelief, seeing how about 80% of them are full galaxies. Each galaxy contains somewhere between 40 billion - 1 trillion stars.

Are we alone out there in the universe? To me, it would be ignorant to think so based on the sheer amount of stars alone.

Of course, I would have already escaped through the Stargate to the Alpha site, preparing a counterstrike.

Yea, that pic was on POTD about a week ago; I found myself asking the same thing as you. Quite impressive.

Here's the pic of the day website, I recommend checking it everyday. Always something really cool on it:

<<You loser. >>

Apparently, Niqk would rather spend the 5 minutes it takes to check the new pic on playing Gemstone IV a text-based ROLE PLAYING GAME. Fucking loser.

Thx for the pic. The utter vastness of the Universe has always begged 2 questions.

1. How could we possible be alone considering the unfathomable size of it all? (same as you)

2. Could all of this been created by random chance?

1) It can't.
2) Yes
