Alrighty, it's that time. Sorry I didn't post this sooner, but... I had shit to do.
We all know the basic rules, right? If not, here's a quick and dirty list...
A) No editing pick posts. Make a new post if you need to make changes. (If you quote your original post in that edit post, it makes my life easier and will reduce potential human error in the score tallying.)
B) Games that started before a post/edit time stamp will NOT be counted.
C) ** CHANGE IN TIEBREAKER ** For years, we've done "Price is Right" rules for picking the tiebreaker score for the Monday Night Football game. After a few questionable "wins" by tiebreaker last season, I feel that needs to change. SO.... here's how it's going to be. Obviously, if someone guesses exactly the combined score of the first Monday Night Football game, they will break the tie and win. For all other values, a simple calculation will be performed.
METHOD OF TIEBREAKER CALCULATION:
A = actual score
G = guessed score
I = Intermediate score
T = Tiebreaker Value
I = A - G
T = I if I >= 0
T = I * -2 if I < 0
I hope that makes sense.... but here's an example to clarify.
Assume the game's combined score is 56, and a tie between two people leaves us with tiebreaker values of 50 and 60.
I = 56 - 50
I = 6
T = 6
I = 56 - 60
I = -4
T = -4 * -2
T = 8
If after that calculation, there is still a tie, the lower value will be considered the winning tiebreaker. This would've been the case had the higher value been 59 instead of 60 in the above example.
D) Scoring will be by the following filters to determine both weekly and overall winners.
a) Overall wins
b) Winning %
c) Total games picked
E) It is easier for both you (So you don't miss a game) and me (So I can use HTML highlights to assist scoring) to simply copy/paste the original matchup list from each week's original thread and delete the loser, rather than trying to scan the list and type the winner. Spelling, capitalization, and use of team name instead of city names can all slow down my ability to tally the weekly scores and opens up the potential for human error. Simply put, a little cooperation on your end makes my end way less tedious, week after week.
And..... with that.. here goes the neighborhood.... (I'll post a reply with this week's matchups, be sure to get those Thursday picks in on time.)
I'm going to try to have the next week's games posted by the end of the Sunday Night Game every week... again, sorry for the delay this week... life happens.
