Archery AS formula change?

So when I left a few years back, there was a different AS formula for open archers compared with hidden archers... but when I look on Krakiipedia, it only has the hidden formula. Did they change the formula while I was out? I am an open archer so I never trained in Ambush but will if it will increase my AS from the open.

The old formulae were something like:
Open AS = Perception only
Hidden AS = (Perception + Ambush) /2

Or does Krakiipedia need to be updated to include the open aiming formula?

There is actually no cap on the bonus you get from ambush, just perception.

The spreadsheet doesn't give me any more AS when I add a full 1x ambush at cap... I know the spreadsheet isn't gospel but I'd hate to blow a fixskills and not gain any benefit. Any open aiming archer-rangers out there able to lend insight?

I was open aim at cap but changed over to sniping during the Talador incursion. I am fully doubled in ranged, perception, and ambush. 1x in ambush only grants you an additional +15 to AS over not training in it at all. If you fully double in it you should garner 40 AS. Either way it's a lot of points spent. I know some who don't train in it at all. They dump those points in lores and Ranger spell circle to gain AS and DS benefits as well as more potent spells. It's really a matter of preference. I don't think it's really possible to screw up a ranger without deliberately trying to do so.

Ambush will raise your ranged AS, as long as you have over 40 ranks.

if you're sniping you should 2x ambush or you're going to get revealed from hiding a lot.

And if I'm not mistaken Ambush is the prime factor in determining accuracy while shooting from hiding.

I'm definitely an open archer. I don't have a single rank of hiding as a ranger. Thanks though.
