Since there seems to be some interest in this - up it goes for auction. Only information I have on it is that it came from the Wavedancer back in '05. If you have questions, send along and I'll respond back.

a heavy steel-banded oak merchant's trunk CB - 4m to Wrath - Sold

You remove a heavy steel-banded oak merchant's trunk from in your silk stalking cloak.
>
>inspec my trunk
You carefully inspect your steel-banded trunk.

You estimate that a heavy steel-banded oak merchant's trunk can store a huge amount with enough space for any number of items.

You determine that you could not wear the trunk.

>analyze my trunk
You analyze your steel-banded trunk and sense that the item is free from merchant alteration restrictions.

You can tell that the trunk's pockets could not possibly get any deeper, but you might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the steel-banded trunk for you.

Not knocking it... Legit question, I assume it has some function unless people just want it for arpee?

It's not that common to find boxes that hold a legitimately large amount *over 50lbs*, with no item amount restrictions. They aren't released very much at all. Hence the value.

If you put items in this and then put the trunk in a player home would it be safe from the janitor?

I thought player homes were safe from the janitor anyways?

Allow me to help in that area. I probably have atleast 50 if not more of the battered black oak sea chests that hold a significant amount without item restriction available for 500k each.

Huge > Significant

Just sayin.

true, but 4mil > 500k. just saying.
still, kinda odd selling on someone else auction.
though i am sure it was just an out of hand comment.

I agree, I was never disputing the fact that this item holds more. Nor was I really trying to make a sale in this thread more then I was more pointing out that boxes that hold more then 50lbs are more common then he thinks that they are something I sell. If I'm not mistaken the oak sea chests hold at least 100lbs.

Appreciate the anonymous negative rep. I'll be sure to not be helpful in the future and avoid a repeat performance. We have a small community, there's no need to be assholes to the extent some people are.

i fully admit I am a hoarder but on top of that I remember things. Tents for example, the cheap ones that sold off the shelf for 200k, are deemed worthless to many because they collapse if a creature comes in room. I guess this dumbing down of Elanthia is due partly to ;go2 but there are a few sancts in the wild right outside your favorite hunting area that you can put up this cheapie tent to hold all your boxes while you hunt.

There are similar reasons I want a box that cant be worn but holds a huge amount. you don't think I want to carry arround a 20lb box do you

I apologize, Would someone mind confirming this?

Not true. Player homes are actually some of the more volatile rooms due to the rate limiting on running in and out and the fact they're very quickly unloaded from the game when emptied.

If you have 100% uptime (lol) with your "babysitter" they're perfectly ok though.

So..... you can't drop stuff in there, lock it, and leave?

That is most assuredly a bad idea unless you want your house to function as a giant goat pin.

If you are using the babysitting tactic it's general fine and the privacy is a trade-off. Just be carefully scripting in and out out too quickly or you'll end up in like 60 seconds of rt

These trunks are great for ~Private Homes~.

You put them ~On~ space, and then you have much more space.

I use a few for storing gems.

and clothes... and weapons.. and food.. and stuff..

No.

But maybe you can keep it ~On~ the floor?
