I might as well ask this and give you a free bump. I was gone when this Voln armor stuff came out. What's up with voln armor. What's it do, what's special about it?

Crazy low price on this. Economy is way down in the pooper. So many uber items floating around... people have already outfitted their alts with great gear.

When everybody is uber.... then nobody will be.

That is kind of inevitable with declining player population and increased access to super gear via paid events and raffles. Not to mention the nature of PP and mage enchants logically leads to an ever increasing number of higher end items (or you know more people with premium titles).

The only solution is breakage and that would probably cause prices to drop as well in the short term.

It's 4x HCP T1 voln plate. I'd hardly consider it uber. The longer that time goes on, the less need people have for anything that isn't uber. padding/weighting/ensorcelling anything before 10x is typically a death sentence because people would rather not pay the premium PP's and continue to further enhance the item.

Of course beginner gear now is better than beginner gear 15 years ago, it's 15 years later! This armor is stuck where it's and it wont be going anywhere else. Why would anyone bother to pay the price to T5 this or add TD, or increase the padding when it has a base 4x enchant? Like I said, it's a great piece of beginner or entry level gear that is too expensive to further modify hence the price tag. In no way does it mean "everyone is uber" because someone decided to pad some 4x armor.

IMO it's a great armor to get you to cap. Once there get something super sweet. That was my plan but now I need the money.

I imagine the voln tier could possibly be increased at EG

I concur. Great piece to get you there.

Most warriors don't care that much about enchant. My current armor for example is 6x, and will probably never go higher. There are other things that take priority in armor. Also, going straight to 10x often just means you can't get it worked on at all, or any work you can get is prohibitively expensive. This is great armor to take to EG and hope to get improved there. If you don't get lucky there, you've still got some decent armor.

I can't speak for most warriors, as I have not conducted a survey of most warriors. However, I care about enchant for my warrior. If you don't get hit, you don't need padding/flares/whatever else. Armor enchant is paramount for me.

Clearly your warrior has no balls, and should just go ahead and make it official and become an empath so he can grow a pair.

Seriously though, chasing after a set of 10x plate when there's so much really good lower enchant plate available out there is an exercise in futility. A set of 4x plate with hcp for 8m is a bargain that's only available due to there being no gear attrition, combined with events like CCF and RtCF, along with the use of PPs. If you look at the most experienced warriors out there, you'll find most of us don't use 10x plate, and maybe half of us use padding. We only very rarely die from critical damage or attrition; it's almost always due to maneuvers or spells. DS is not often the issue.

I just don't like getting plinked to death. 5 here 8 there, etc., adds up quickly in a camp/swarm. I've played a warrior 20 years, so I'm familiar with the class.
