Alright, I got the decrypter thing. What do I do now to play the movies off my HD?

Click on Guides, Ripping, DVD Decrypter guide.

That'll tell you how to do it. In short, though:

From the 'Mode' menu, select 'File'.

Put DVD Video disc in drive.

From the 'Edit' menu, select 'Select All'

Click the big 'Decrypt' button.

Close DVD Decrypter when it has finished.

Load up WinDVD (or PowerDVD) - Do not use MediaPlayer!

For the source, select 'DVD From Folder...' (or 'Open DVD file on hard disk' in PowerDVD!)

Browse to the folder you just ripped to in DVD Decrypter, then click 'Open'.

Try opening it with that.

You could also try:

http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/portal.php

This will act like a virtual DVD drive, which will fool players like Win/PowerDVD into thinking a ripped DVD is being played from a drive.

By the way, I much prefer DVDShrink, but I only rip DVD's so that I can burn them to a blank DVD... I don't keep them on my HD. And if you have Nero (easily found through a BitTorrent,) DVDShrink uses its codec and becomes an all-in-one ripper/compresser/burner.

Well from the sounds of it you just want an image of it on your HD which I would suggest using UltraISO and then a virtual drive of any type to play it. If your wanting to actually "rip" the dvd to drive and convert it to mpeg I can get you a list of applications when I get home to complete that process.

All of your suggestions suck, use FlaskMPEG to convert the vobs (Decrypted with DVD Decrypter) to whatever the fuck you want.

Where can I find that?

I knew that

Okay, when trying to convert the vobs it says I need to specify the audio stream file name but it doesn't seem to be working. Also, there are like 12 vobs for the entire disc do I convert all of em?

10-02-2004, 01:36 AM
figured that out still need to know which vobs to recode

Can't help you, I've never used that Flask program. Chances are, though, the largest vob is probably the main movie.

Think i got it. We'll see if it has audio. The shit takes forever

Did you try Media Player Classic or Daemon tools? Chances are you don't even need to recode it. Just rip the DVD using Decrypter in File mode, and then open it up with one of those programs.

Why exactly are you doing this, anyway? Unless you've got a 120+ gigabyte HD, you probably won't be able to store that many movies. And even if you have a 120+ gig HD, you still won't be able to store that many movies.
