http://news.yahoo.com/obama-longs-break-white-house-bubble-120614293--politics.html
Leader of the free world complaining like a little bitch (I use that simply because this guy has no idea what real work is-campaigning, stump speeches and fundraisers sure). I'm pretty sure in the past 6 months, he took a huge Christmas break, a 2 week vacation after that, and now this? Now I don't fault him for taking Sunday off, got it... but another 4 day, when so damn much is going on? Perception is a lot, and I sadly deceive him as a weak man, take the politics out of it... he just "appears" weak to me.
But to complain that Washington is to constraining? He wanted the job and now he just whines and whines. God, can we please get a guy (or gal) in the White House with some fortitude?
For those that want to say "BUSH BUSH!" ... just don't. Again... I don't give a crap what others did, I care what the guy in there now is doing. Obama plays more golf than me, and I play every weekend (that I can - cause with my job I have to work weekends a lot of times).
I swear this guy... he'd probably walked off his post if he thought he had to do a 15 month deployment too, he's cut of that cloth.
Sorry venting a bit, but an article trying to make us all feel sorry for him and how hard he has it, just... gahahhahahahaha.

He needs to stop already and realize, he got everything he wanted.

Presidents take a decent amount of vacation. They need it. If you don't think the job is hard, compare him from before he was elected to now.

Haha... I just can't stand the "woe is me" articles. He chose to run for President, he said he could do it better, he said he could handle it... and we're supposed to feel bad for him? Cause Washington and leading the free world "is tough"?? He needs to sack up some.
Just like Hillary and her, "oh we were so, so broke" booo hooo.. STFU!
Real people have it tough, these poser wanna-be's are a bunch of talking heads. Literally they just have to talk all day. That's it. Talk and some more talk, and everyone else makes it happen. Wanting us to feel for them, when they chose that life and they talk!! TALK! Hmmm... "I think we should do this"... go play golf, come back in 3 days... "Is that done? No? Then lets make it happen"... go to fundraiser, come back in 2 days... "It done? Why not? Congress said no?? Why? Well make it happen! Talk to congress?? I'm not talking to those fools"... pull pen out, write EO, go on golfing trip, hang out with Jay-Z, come back 4 days later.... "Wait...what's going on? Holy shit, I saw it on the news. I know right, that's crazy! Wait, what? I should say something to the press? Okay."... Press conference... "God that sucked them asking me questions. The politics in Washington is hard. I need a shake and burger from Wendy's. Where's my cigarettes? Oh yea can't let them see that. I need a vaca.".... 2 weeks in Hawaii.

Geezus.. you're right... I mean why should we expect more from our leaders? Did you read the article? The comments come across as if he doesn't want the job at all. And it's ohhhh sooo hard. Well no shit dumbass. It's the PRESIDENCY!
Of course there is nothing to be worked on over the past 4 days. No one to call at all. Just issue edicts from on high, come back in 4 days and see what has shaken out.

I know they do work when on vacation. I'm not so crazy. For me it is the perception of it. I'm not sure how many times/articles I've read Obama say, "this is hard, I need a break, or I wish I was anonymous." Say it once, got it... when you say it over and over and over, year after year after year... just shut up already.
I'm venting a tad, I'm not totally crazy.. this guy just reeks of weakness though. ALPHA MALE it up!

Compare photos of guys before they go on a 15 month deployment compared to when they finish.
Those guys have it hard, Politicians have it hard because they worry so much about people liking them.
I'm not saying the Presidency is easy... I can't stand people that are complaining about it, while they are in that position. If a Commander of a Military unit, or the CEO of a business was continually complaining about how hard he had it, how much work he had to do, how it was so hard on him and not the workers.... that guy would be universally hated. Since it's our President, I guess we should all let it slide.

Being Pope usually kills the people who do it. I don't think being President is that tough but I do think it is more akin to being Pope than what you are pushing. Just because you don't understand the pressures doesn't mean they aren't there. Do you think Bush is the same after his Presidency? You don't possess knee jerk hatred of him. Pretty much what he does is sit around the house and paint cute little pictures of dogs and his toes in the bathtub. No matter what you think of Bush do you think that was what he would've done before the Presidency? It took some of the life out of him.

Fair points. The Presidency does take the life out of the people that serve in it. A lot of jobs do. I don't think our Leaders should continually complain about it. He wanted to be the President of the United States. He wanted to lead the #1 country in the world. The number of times this guy has made the statements that he wishes he could walk away, or be anonymous, or just take it easy is astounding.
I'm pretty sure, 4 out of our last 5 Presidents are still alive. I'm pretty sure the last Pope is still alive. Both are stressful, that is or should be understood by the people seeking that position. It will require fortitude. It will drain your strength. But it is your responsibility if you are chosen to stay strong. It is your responsibility to care for those you represent/lead. It is your responsibility to not complain, and hear the complaints of others. That is what it means to be a leader.
Do whatever you want when you're out of office. Go paint or ride bikes or take photos of sunsets... I don't care. Your life is yours to live how you wish. But if you are going to represent the strongest Nation on earth, don't complain so much while you are in the position.
Read any guide on leadership... the qualities that are required... the qualities that allow great men/women to become influential leaders and shapers of the world... I'm not sure this person displays those qualities.

What's odd... if anyone sought as much time off, complained as much, said this is to hard, in the community that I work in... they would be ostracized within a year and a half. Chances would be given to change their attitude. Mentoring provided. Opportunities given for them to excel. If it continued... transitioned out... moved on... you're a great person, just not right for this.
Not everyone is wired the same way, nothing wrong or better/worse about it. But people are different. If you know what type of person you are, then you can have a much better, fulfilling life. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Just don't fill a position, because you like the limelight, but because you can take the pressure... because you can handle the stress... because you will be and set the ideal for others to admire and want to follow...
I'll get off the soapbox now... I just hate the perception of weak leaders /sigh. I think this of most of our Politicians btw... Why Congress gets so many breaks and average like 2 or 3 days of work a week pisses me off to no end. Those guys ... GAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

I think acknowledging the need for some downtime is important in all sorts of high stress fields. Places that overdo it like investment banking, big law, business consulting, inside/outside sales, Amazon warehouse jobs and so on that don't want to admit weakness also have a much higher rate of burnouts.
You're likely just hyper sensitive if you're in one of those fields. It layers on top of the conservativeness.
To me this didn't seem like serious complaining. Even under a President I disagreed with (Bush) I only complained about him vacationing during a national disaster. I mean the guy had a movie made about murdering him. Obama had a look alike actor cast as Satan in a movie about Jesus. And that's just the tip of the iceberg for what a President goes through.

For the last time WB... IT IS NOT MY IDEOLOGY... read some stuff on leadership, and the qualities that make good leaders... I'm sure you have teaching history. Now take an objective look at our current Leaders, the President included. Does he really present those qualities? Take the politics out of it. Does he instill pride? Does he instill a desire to follow? Is he fair to all those he has been tasked to lead? Does he listen to all viewpoints, and make the best decisions regardless of his own ideologies? Does he work harder than those he asks to work for him? I could go on and on.
You think it's my "ideology".... it's just basic looking at leadership qualities.

My next post pointed to it maybe being some sensitivity because of your job.
For my own part I think we've had a lot of Presidents, some of them terrible. I think nearly all of them worked hard.

1. Honesty - I think we all know he fails miserably on that front. 2/10
2. Ability to Delegate - I'll give this a 50/50.. as depending how you see it, he delegates a ton of stuff, sadly who he delegates to is a huge topic of discussion. 5/10
3. Communication - Foreign policy wise he sucks, and he seriously won't talk to others across the aisle, but he sounds good at speeches 6/10
4. Sense of Humor - Nice smile, but he definitely has a thin skin when it comes to being self-deprecating. He likes cracking jokes about others though. 5/10
5. Confidence - He definitely has that, but his consistent whining about how hard he has it is off putting. 4/10
6. Commitment - This is one that really gets me - would require a lot of discussion, but in my view. 3/10
7. Positive Attitude - again goes back to confidence. 4/10
8. Creativity - Short term politically speaking 8/10 - couple mess-ups but he is politically savvy. Actual policy wise/decision making skills and long term effects 5/10.
9. Intuition - Again, politically 7/10. Actual work related decision making processes 4/10.
10. Ability to inspire - Politically 9/10. Actual work related issues? 2/10 - unless you are a complete ideologue.
So that I take this to a more subjective tone.. how would you rate him WB? Seriously.

He's moved right past that and isn't all that interested in negotiating with his own party.

I made a rather nice looking pipe out of a stick but I never got around to curing it, if that's the right terminology. Someday.
