If I wear temporary HCP breastplate with temporary VHCP leg greaves, and I get hit in the leg, do I consume a charge of ONLY the leg greaves, or both, or nobody knows?
* I understand that I get VHCP on the legs, my question is about using up charges.
edit reason - fixed a gross misspelling of nobody... I cant believe I actually wrote "knowone" on the first post!

Well, I may be way off here, being that you gave no indication of what kind of breastplate, I'm going to assume you mean Metal Breastplate. MBP is the first section of the plate category, meaning it only covers your chest, stomach and back. You need to be atleast in the third section of the group to cover your legs. So, to answer your question, getting hit in your legs will use a charge on your greaves and not your breastplate.
Now, lets assume you're wearing something like half plate that does in fact cover your legs. I can't answer your question in this scenario!

So the information the previous poster gave is a little off. MBP protects everything other than your chest as if it is in the lower ASG bracket, so in this case it would be chain, and it would take advantage of the HCP of your armor IF you weren't wearing the greaves.
Based on this Krakiipedia article, http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Changes_to_padding_and_damage_weighting_%28saved_p ost%29, your legs are going to be protected by the highest available type of padding on the specified area, so I would assume, like the previous poster, that it will only use a charge on your greaves.

As the padding does not stack with each other, one being from armor, and the other from an accessory, it will only take it from the greaves, not the chest. Once the padding has worn off the greaves, you will get HCP padding on the legs, and plate protection, minus the CvA.
