I'll try and check here semi-regularly and answer questions, respond to comments, or just talk about the website.

If you don't know what it is, playershops.com keeps track of the inventories of all PRS shops in the lands, updated daily (or close to it).

Whats your gain from doing this? Running the site -- you going to spam email or run adds or something?

Well... I do run ads, but that's not too much of a gain; they're google ads, so no popups or annoying crap. There isn't much of a gain, other than the thanks, and the ability for me to shop too. Now that it's built, it doesn't really take much or any of my time, so there's no detriment.

What's Tsoran's gain to the maps, or Nilandia's to the info repository? Self satisfaction? Helping others share my addiction? ::shrug::

Trying to keep information from disappearing, I think. There wasn't an official site when I started it, and my site's sorta taken a life of its own.

I know we talked, but I'll post here for everyone else's benefit. I had both the shop link announcement and those random changes in place, and the page just got too cumbersome. The random links will replace the announcement when it goes away.

Yeah.. had some issues for a few days in there, and again this morning... one of the problems with not having real dev environments is you run into problems like that. I could probably make things more stable, but heh, this is a game, not a commercial adventure.

I stopped rushing home from work when the site went down as soon as my boss figured out why I was leaving early. Good reason not to show your boss your website, eh?

I must say its one that has added value to those who own player shops in th game. Good job and I hope you are able to maintain it in the future.

Any ideas on the number of hits per day you get? This would be good info for those of us who have things in player shops for sale?

You could even charge a small fee (gemstone silvers of course) for certain shops to have premier advertising on your website. Oh the marketing opportunities abound!

All in all, good job with the site, I hope it can stick around for a while.

I thought about that, but I opted for the random link instead, and have gotten pretty positive feedback on that. It's easier than negotiating silvers for services. The slight revenue I'm getting from Google clicks, and the use I get out of the site as a shopper is enough to keep it going. It's really not costing me much, not even game time (it auto-runs during the night), so I don't mind keeping it up long term.

My low day was about 360 visitors/4200 hits. My highest day was 900 visitors/11200 hits.
