Just throwing this out there for people:

While trying to ensorcell my armor, I unfortunately found out after an ASSIST that it has a resistance to magic for no discernible reason. I went through SGM referral and they were not inclined to remove the resistance to magic. The basic policy/assumption is that unless there is clear evidence showing that the penalty was accidental/incorrect, they have to assume that the intention was to prevent further use of magic on the item. This includes 925 (the item is padded anyway), and 735 (which this item pre-dates). Personally, it felt like the objective was to find potential excuses against my case (in some cases being invalid and inconsistent), rather than to examine both sides and weigh it out. But, be that as it may...

The biggest problem with this is that this resistance to magic doesn't show up in any of the common discovery mechanics in GS (loresong, assess, analyze, inspect, 405, etc). So this was my 735 messaging for anyone else who doesn't want to get stuck:

>prep 735
You begin drawing a faint, twisting symbol while softly intoning the words for Ensorcell...
Your spell is ready.
>chan my leathers
You channel at some riveted grey hunting leathers.
Your grey hunting leathers resists your spell!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

So if you're buying something, and planning on getting it ensorcelled, or thinking about getting something like a padding service done, give it a difficulty read so you don't get inadvertently screwed, or inadvertently screw someone else when you sell it.
