This is a well rounded staff that will serve you well in combat and RP.

As you run your hand across your black orase runestaff, it suddenly liquefies, spattering onto the ground and coalescing into a reflective pool like that of molten metal. As you suspiciously gazes down at the pool, a massive shackle affixed by a chain lurches from its center and snaps closed around your neck! Flinching and struggling with chain, you pull it taut, and at that instant, it reforms into a runestaff, leaving you shaken and confused.

A black orase runestaff coils around your wrist as you clench it, forming a heavy shackle! The length of the runestaff, having formed a series of chain links, clatters to the ground. Abruptly, a spectral hand bursts from the ground and pulls the chain taut! You struggle with all your might to free yourself, and as you grip the chain binding you and heave, the chain links stretch back into the form of a runestaff. You rub your wrist and glare at the runestaff, terrified!
Ambient scripts - these go off without any user command, usually about every 15-60 minutes depending. Can be de-activated.
Andreaus's orase runestaff shimmers slightly, fading after a few short pulses.
Black tendrils dance across your orase runestaff, causing the air to crackle around you.
Andreaus's orase runestaff wavers from sight, shimmering slightly as it becomes solid again.

Custom ambient:
The long end of your runestaff falls to the ground and coils into a thick black leather whip. As if animated by some invisible overseer, the whip arcs back and slashes at the air, followed by the deafening, torturous grunt of a dwarf. As you pull the whip back, it returns to its original state, and the illusion is gone.
To turn off:

You place a hand on your black orase runestaff, causing it to go dormant.
To turn on:
>prod rune
You place a hand on your black orase runestaff, causing it to react once again.
Other commands:
>wav rune
You brandish your black orase runestaff, causing the air to crackle surrounding the runestaff.
stow:
With a quick flourish, you stow your black orase runestaff into your tooled leather backpack.
get:
You draw the black orase runestaff from your tooled leather backpack, brandishing it before you.
Greater Armor and Weapon Moods:
This item contains mood messaging depending on flare type, and has a chance to fire off ambient messaging every so often. It will also work for things like bless, elemental edge, and guiding light flares. This item is currently active and will do ambient messaging. You may PROD to make it go dormant.
When getting the custom settings altered, it works just like getting an EzScript done. You write the 1st and 3rd person messaging. The custom abilities are like cantrips or illusions. They do not cause permanent things to happen. They shouldn't cause forced actions or emotions to others either.
Changing the flares, padding, etc. on this item is subject to having the custom settings removed, unless the messaging is generic. If changed from ice flaring to fire flaring, custom messaging about ice would no long be appropriate. Padding, weighting, sighting, and defenders do not have default ambient messaging, but can have custom ones added and without the custom setting, they will never be ambient.
If you're unsure if you'll lose any of your custom settings, ask before getting any work done on this item that changes the flares, weighting, padding, etc. Wave messaging is the same for both 1st and 3rd person.
