Ever since I updated my windows explorer, I think it's 11 now!
I have to keep rebooting and lgging in as admin over and over to get into the game for just one character at a time. It's never been like this before. I could leave my computer one for days. Log in and out, have 3 accounts on at the same time and never have an issue.
Any idea what's going on and what I can do to fix it please?
Thank you,
Shim

I thought the only feature of windows explorerer was to open up Modzilla or Google to download real web browsers.

Real internetters use Netscape Navigator.

I'm not real savvy when it comes to the computer. All I know is that was the only change I made to my computer, so I assumed it was why my lich is not working. I use internet explorer to navigate online and check my mail, yes.

Sounds to me like you are having an issue with UAC (User Account Control). I'm going to assume you are running windows 7 or windows 8.1. Are you using Storm with Lich? If so, do the following:
Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Simu\STORM (or wherever you are using it from when Lich calls it)
Right-click the stormfront.exe file and go to properties.
Click on the Compatibility tab.
Check mark run this program as an administrator.
If you are running Windows XP, Microsoft no longer supports the product, nor will they provide any further updates for that OS.
In order to help you, I'd need more information. I'm familiar with every OS (MAC, Linux, Windows), and every version of Ruby (1.8 to 2.0) so just throw out information.
And, the reason why people are sort of making fun of you is that you mentioned you downloaded windows explorer 11 when we believe you meant to say internet explorer 11.
I hear this all the time.

The "winkey" is the key between CTRL and ALT (shaped like a windows logo). In 8.1 it takes you back and forth between the "desktop" and "metro view". Metro view is the tablet view with all of the colorful icons.
Press the "winkey" and go to metro and instantly start typing "CMD".
When you see the command prompt, click on it to open a dos command prompt.
Type "ruby -v" to see which ruby version you are running.
(next and if you don't feel like posting this here, you don't have to - send me a private message)
Type set > c:\temp\environment.txt
This will copy all of your windows environment variables to a nice text file that will be located in C:\temp. Copy and paste or post to me the contents of the environment. This will tell me more importantly if you have any ruby_path environment variables, etc.
Lastly, while stormfront is open, right-click your task bar in desktop mode and select task manager.
Find the stormfront process, right-click on it and open "file location".
Let me know where your stormfront is located.
After you provide me this information, I'll get you squared away.
Thanks!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say... Set Stormfront to store settings locally.
