I understand the desire to make me out to be a bad person, but I honestly thought I had asked to give the item back.

I do believe this to be a miscommunication. In Jumpkick's defense I let him borrow an eonake battle axe when he was looking to purchase something but was low on coin. He gave it back when he was done without an issue. In another instance I gave him a 5x enhancive main gauche with stamina recovery and acid flares. He offered to give it back since training points were tight at the moment, but I told him to hang onto it for when he could use it. In both instances he offered back the weaponry without trying to make a dime off of my generosity.
