Poker Interest - NJ?

I've been dabbling in thought about starting a monthly poker game, and maybe some PCers might be interested.

All limit hold'em, with the following tentative rules.

If it's 15-30, minimum 1000 in chips to sit.
if it's 30-60 minimum 2500 to sit. (same rules as AC).

No take for the house, but a standard 25 dollar house fee to enter to cover food, drinks, etc..

Worst case, maybe we keep the existing 10-20 game, 500 to sit, and some PCers can join in, but if anyone is interested in a little bit higher stakes, let me know.

It's limit poker, not no limit. When we've played no limit in the past, its usually a 100 entry winner take all. Here you take home whatever you have in chips at the end of the night, or when you leave. When we've had 10 people at 10-20, the biggest pots I've ever seen single hand range in the 5-600 range, so the swings arent all that big.

yea I remember he said he liked to play when we I had the mini gather before. But some people only like playing NL. 30-60 blinds no limit is a bit much for me.

Since we've never had more than 18 people show up, unless it was 3 people per table, hard to play 6 tables at once.

Fleecing the blind at pokerroom or partypoker is easy enough, but there aren't many suckers at the 5-10 and up.

The way I play NL is that we all have the same buy in (For me it's between $25 - $50) and you get a set amount of poker chips. You start the blinds at the lowest chip and then everytime someone is out, you double it. By the time it reaches 3 players.. they blinds are huge. Our payoffs are 3rd place gets money back, 2nd place gets double money back and 1st place gets everything else. Also, everyone brings a snack so I don't have to collect the $25 house fund rack. We start around 7pm and can usually get in 4 or 5 games in by 2am when we normally quit.

Damn.. now I wanna play tonight!!

I signed up to the ones you told me about.. I just need to make another netteller deposit and I'm in. I'll probably do that tomorrow.. but it won't be in my account (Fucking Bank of America) until Monday or Tuesday.

Yeah we do the same thing here Falgrin except we still play with denomination chips, they just don't equal the amount of the buy in.

For instance, we usually play like 8 people, 10 dollar buy in (school, no money), and everyone gets 150 dollars worth of chips.

Blinds raise ever 30 mins or so.

We do it the same as PB, except we raise the blinds every 30 minutes. Blinds start at 1/2, then 2/4, then 5/10, then 10/20. Pay $50 to get a set amount of chips, winner takes all. If you are willing to do tournie style NL Hold 'Em, I'd be down. I don't like the play style of any other type of poker.

Yea seriously, being in Jersey if it was something more affordable to a poor college student I'd go but the stakes are way too high. Have fun though.
