Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System in this case.

For those of us who don't live in MA can you put those scores into perspective?

Bobmuhthol

Advanced 260 - 280
Proficient 240 - 258
Needs Improvement 220 - 238
Warning 200 - 218

Not sure how it's scored, but with 280 being the highest possible, I win very hard with a 274.

Shouldn't you be more impressed with your 260 in science considering theres less people who meet that criteria in your school, disctrict, or state?

Actually, the dude with the 280 wins very hard. You just win hard.

...

There's a very, very, very good chance that I am. That 13-15% is everyone who got 260 or higher. Based on exact score instead of general level, I would be very much in the ninth stanine.

You should be scoring in the 99th percentile on any state assessment test.

You should know what you're talking about.

I'd be an awful expensive dork to hire just to do math at that level. He'd be better served paying longshot 8 bucks an hour to use a calculator. Using a calculator is cheap, unskilled labor, one which you can hire people unqualified for skilled labor at much lower costs.

That's called economics.
