Do ithzir loot orbs or something? I'm guessing you're talking about a fusion orb?

It could be possible if the person died and the ithzir rummaged through their containers.

Additionally, I'll sing to the items tonight when I sign on and see if I can get a read of who lost it.

Yup its a fusion orb, I assume what Whirlin suggests is what happened.

Ithzir wear a large sack when they loot, it's kinda like a curse to them. When you loot one and they drop a large sack that means it was probably looted. No sack = treasure drop. The only exception to the rule is when they are holding a weapon because they can pick up a disarmed weapon and they don't get the sack. I have " large sack (worn) " highlighted in my text strings as I can look at the critter when someone has been looted to get the gear back and not waste mana killing everything in the area.

KneeCapper is right about Ithzir and large sacks. Their sacks might just have silvers, but in my experience the Ithzir are greedy and the sacks usually have an item. And if there's one Ithzir running around with a sack, I would look for others.
