Marksman, my favorite spec in the hunter class, now has the following abilities:
Chimera shot
Aimed Shot
Steady Shot
Whatever shot you pick in the level 90 tier.
And potentially one CD *if* you talent into it (AMoC/Stampede).
Honestly, I agree that there's too many abilities in the game, but in TBC there were too few. Hunters back then just pressed a steady shot macro inbetween their auto shots and topped meters. It seems like we're going back to those days.
I might honestly be done with WoW as a serious game, and only play it casually.

So, I quit my latest guild because my dad's doing worse, but also because I can't stand the dynamic in 25s. No one really knows each other, so they all grandstand and talk shit while secretly forming little cliques via private channels, and not listening to anyone. It's literally like herding cats.
And, I'm at the point in the game where my skill level requires me to either be content with the heroic progression clear with laid back people which takes months longer than it should, but usually before the next patch....or bite the bullet and be a part of the parse-chasing crowd who think they're world top 10 when they're US top 100. I just tried the latter, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
I also think I've learned I'm a more conservative player focused on mechanical fidelity than parse chasers, which seems to work in 10 mans but really has no place in high end 25s. I'm not looking forward to 20s. Maybe I'll go tank/heals so people don't expect me to parse constantly.

The hunter changes are really bothering me. No more kill shot for survival (why?), no unique pet abilities, no pet CC abilities, you have to spec into Stampede, etc. etc.

What are parse chasers?

People that say fuck it to getting out of fire, fuck it to threat management, and a giant fuck you to all viability outside of maximizing damage output, healing output, or whatever else is being measured and reported.

You can post stats of a fight to certain websites for maximum e-peen. People that try to top those charts will ignore every other aspect of the game to be the top. Oh I'm supposed to stack up to split damage? Nope. Oh I'm supposed to click that button on the wall to assist with the group? Nope. I'm here to PEW PEW PEW!

I haven't logged in to WoW since D3 RoS released.

I have not been keeping up with WOW. My son made it sound like this new xpac was going to bring back the old talent trees with an option for auto specing. Am I understanding this correctly? If this is the case, I would reconsider starting up again.

I'm appreciative of how they are trying to modify PvP & Damage, Health & Healing, and reducing the glut of Class abilities. Reforging is gone, due to the further simplification of stats (do we really need to grey-out int for warriors? why not make it a minus magic damage taken thing?)
I kinda wish they would do a WoW 2.0 relaunch, but that was essentially done with the Catalysm expansion for the 'old world' content.

Play on a private server. I PvP on a WotLK build server occasionally. It's a perfect situation because I'm not constantly chasing gear season after season. Once I have my gear and gem it, then I jsut get to play for fun's sake instead of constantly grinding for the next season's gear.

Because Blizz would have to revamp the entire loot system to make int anywhere near appealing for non-int users.

I was thinking more along the lines of just letting it be a small bonus, vs greyed-out because 'worthless'

You might as well have it be a class bonus or something not even tied to int, then. I don't think I have anything beyond the base stat on my warrior apart from the occasional +5% stats buff.
