Some of the replies though...

Gunpowder in a swords and sorcery fantasy...really you are morons. I'll start looking for someplace else to spend my money

>A special spyglass, or binoculars, will have to be bought and used to be able to use this ability, however.
These items are available ONLY in the Simucoin store!

>Will any professions have the option to convert?
Yes, there will be a pricey potion available ONLY in the Simucoin store!

>Most importantly, how can I turn my barn owl into a Gunslinger? Will the blunderbuss be available in owl-appropriate sizes?
Hmm, good idea! This option will be coming to you soon, available ONLY in the Simucoin store!

>I'll start looking for someplace else to spend my money
How about our Simucoin store!

>What does it take to have the Bullet Dodger title?
This title is available for purchase ONLY in the Simucoin store!

Burgal gnomes and all of Riend's characters will get a steampunk bonus to all gun-related skills!

~Vanah

I think if you replaced 'only at the Simucoin store' with 'only at a paid event' it would be 100% believable.

Wait, so this isn't really happening then?

I looks like it is, it's still on the front page of the main site......

They never announced that it was an April fools joke. Also, they posted it a day earlier than April fools.

So, unless this is real, that would be really unprofessional of them to fool their fan base like that and not even remember to take off the announcement on the front page.

Which would tell me, that it's gotta be real.....

HeExalts

I mean I haven't seen or heard anything otherwise, have you?

HeExalts

That's not even cool man. I was hoping it was for real, so we could get some fricken people to sign up for GS.

Now I gotta go back to the free to play as being the only option that's ever gonna happen.

HeExalts
04-06-2014, 11:33 PM
Or maybe it doesn't even matter. They don't seem to give a rat's butt about the population so why should we?

HeExalts
04-06-2014, 11:33 PM
Just let it die man. That's the game plan. That's what's obvious.

I'm very upset about this though it wasn't done in a funny way.

HeExalts
04-06-2014, 11:35 PM
Even the guns they described were ok with me because they were single shot fire in almost all cases. I could see prototypes of that kind of thing being developed at the very least even in a medieval setting.

HeExalts
04-06-2014, 11:35 PM
I guess the population in GS is an inside joke so now they're just rubbing salt deeper into the wound by coming out with fake announcements.

HeExalts
04-06-2014, 11:37 PM
At this point, if I had to guess the fate of GS, this is my final analysis.

In about 2-3 years, if everything remains the same in the world, the population is going to become almost non existent.

Or, in about 2-3 years, they are going to make it free to play on one level or another.

Either one of those two it has to be one of them though. This is my final analysis of what is going to happen to the game.

HeExalts
04-06-2014, 11:38 PM
Once they start making cut backs at the company that's when you know trouble is right around the corner. That's when you know they are either going to scrap the game all together or make it free to play.

It was nothing more than me thinking that the company actually had a good idea going for them.....and trusting that because it was STILL on the front page, that it was really gonna happen.

By the way, you guys reminded me of one of the most important scriptures of all. With Gemstone's help.

NEVER put your trust in another Human Being. Not your Father, not your Mother, not your Brothers and Sisters, not a company, not friends, not no one.

Only put your trust in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as ONE.

I have recited much scripture here. I would look up some of the stuff I put in quotes.

Are you all aware of the fact that God gave His only begotten Son so that we may all receive Life through Him from His sacrifice on the Cross? That He came in the flesh, walked this Earth for a time being, was crucified and shed His Holy blood, for all of us, and then conquered death and the grave after He rose from the dead?

All you all aware of that? If not, the Holy Bible is the only book that you can read to learn about it exactly as God has ordained for it to be.

HeExalts
04-07-2014, 12:56 AM
Are you all aware that only believing in all of that, and loving Him for it, can a person be saved? By professing that Jesus, Yeshua, the Christ, is King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Are you all aware of that?

HeExalts
04-07-2014, 01:01 AM
When I say here I mean all over this board. Look through all of my posts if you want to, whatever you see in quotes is most likely going to be genuine scripture straight from the Holy Word of God.

Once It's in you, It never leaves.

You've never heard of "thou shalt not trust Simutronics"? It's like the ninth commandment, dude.

I didn't just single out Simutronics though. Which overall has been a pretty good company to it's customers, minus the fact that they allowed the game to die, but there might be much bigger reasons for that than I am willing to admit at the moment.

I mentioned ALL companies are not to be trusted. Neither are Human Beings, animals, etc.

Haven't we learned enough from the people who got killed by the very animals they trained for decades? Or mauled by them?

We have to remember that only God has the power not to betray. Human Beings and everything else in creation seems to have that quality, betrayel, including myself, at our core.

Until Jesus returns, everything on this planet is going to be wrong. Everything is backwards, and it's that way on purpose. We have the tools that we need to do everything right, and yet, we do everything wrong with them.

What is happening to Gemstone 4 is just a micro example of that.

Guys. I don't know about you, and I'm not judging, but I have literally been promoting Gemstone 4 on a different message board every day out there on the internet, and I haven't seen barely a single result from doing it.

I think I must have done over 30 by now. Including made my own and promoted that too. And I personally witnessed on one of those boards over 2,000 people checking out the posts.

Guess what. No one signed up for GS4. Or if they did, they didn't appear to stay.

So what does that mean? It means there is something wrong, on the bottom level of the game, that is turning people off from playing it. The basic subscription is not appealing to ANYBODY out there who hasn't played the game yet.

So the only solution, the ONLY solution, is to make it free to play. Then we can blame people for being lazy at that point, instead of assuming that there is something wrong with the game's subscriptions, which we have to assume at the moment, because of the fact that no one wants to sign up for it.

HeExalts
04-07-2014, 02:13 PM
After we make it free to play, we can reach the truth. We can finally get to that magic question and have it answered which is, are we just a fan of something that barely anyone will ever like? Or, did we fall in love with the game when it WAS free to play, on AOL, and that we can witness other people do the same if it once again becomes that way.

I can personally attest to the fact that I would have never tried Gemstone 4 if it wasn't free to play back then, but that I am willing to pay for the regular subscription now, because I fell in love with the game.

It's the same with most of you I'm sure. Which PROVES that people will come to the game if it's free to play, and then will start paying for things after they fall in love with it.

Instead they opted for a 200-300 a day user base! What the hell is going on here???

HeExalts
04-07-2014, 02:34 PM
By the way, to increase the size of the game easily, to accommodate for all of the extra people who would be playing, why doesn't Simu just make copies of everything that's already in place, and just have everything be copied over and over and just have the world as it is be copied 1,000 times or something in a sort of, I don't know, Honeycomb type structure or something, so that, they literally have to create nothing new, but just keep everything as it is, and copy it until it fits the population that would possibly pour in if the game was free to play in it's basic subscriptional form.

HeExalts
