So this is an attempt to get some input on what you would do with skills based on the 10x DB thread.

Let assume this set of skills:

One of the points made in the thread is that you could untrain a certain number of ranks in dodge and potentially do something more useful with them.

What would you trade the dodge training for that would be considered more useful?

My current goals are to finish dodge, and then move on to TWC for the additional DS it offers. I rarely find myself in a room with six creatures where the added FoF is required. But maybe I should finish off MoC and then head to TWC.

Currently I run around in OTF and Nelemar without fear of ambush, ranged, bolt, or physical attacks in offensive, nothing in my hands, and wearing plain 4x double leathers. I am in GoS but don't enjoy doing warcamps with this character as mana is not infinite and I find 1s archery shots to eyeballs with an unlimited supply of arrows to be more effective.

So assume you could pick up 80DS between 10x armor and a 10x DB. What would you find more useful than the dodge ranks?

Assume you don't pickup 10x armor for the added 30DS and instead pickup 5x very heavy padded armor to assist with non AS/DS resolutions. What would you do then?

And to build on what Whirlin said, you can't legitimately say you've beat GemStone unless you own at least one 10x DB item.

Armor ranks. Armor Action Penalty is easily trained off and makes a huge difference in maneuvers, that's the only way I die in OTF and once I hit 156 ranks in doubles .....effortless

It would be impossible to beat gemstone in a single lifetime.

You would have to have trained every type of character, with every type of possibility, capped them all, and then played every platform that is offered. Regular, Shattered, Premium, Platinum, etc. And done the same in each one of them.

In fact, with the game constantly shifting and changing, it may be impossible to beat it in any lifetime.

Not to mention the societies, trades to learn, etc.

Ah, but that depends on one's definition of "beating GemStone."
